A Gun in Each Hand

The film portrays the daily lives, secrets, lies, loneliness and frustrations of a group of eight thirty-something friends living in Barcelona.

While his parents are away for the summer, 16-year-old Dani invites his best friend, the irrepressible Nico, to stay for the holidays. Jealously rears its head when Nico appears more interested in the local girls than in Dani. Hot summer nights and too many joints lead to experimentation which neither boy can talk about, a situation complicated by the appearance of the older and openly gay Julián, a published writer and old friend of Dani’s father.

When Julián receives an unexpected visit in Madrid from his lifelong friend Tomás, who now lives in Canada, the encounter is bittersweet. Diagnosed with terminal cancer, Julián is focused on putting his affairs in order, while Tomás is still grasping at hope. For four intense days, the two men, accompanied by Julián's faithful dog, Truman, tour the city, sharing emotional, hilarious and surprising moments.

The coincidence cross fates of five characters in a hotel room in New York. A newlyweds couples discussing, a touring magician requesting the services of a prostitute, a voyeur photographer that is silent witness to the fight of a couple on the street and a journalist who is going to kill himself because he made public his penchant for crossdressing.

Julio and Ana have been together for more than fifteen years. They have become a couple who no longer look at nor touch one another, and who have made daily fighting the essence of their relationship. This evening, Ana has invited their upstairs neighbors to come round, Salva and Laura, a couple younger than them, pleasant and friendly, but whose noises are now an annoyance for Julio and Ana... or perhaps a stimulus? The upstairs neighbors will make them an unusual and surprising proposal which will turn the evening into an exaggerated and cathartic experience for all four.

Decided to leave a few days of his wife and children to go to the Pyrenees and find there the peace and inspiration.
