During World War II, French playwright Jean Anouilh modernized the classic Greek tragedy into a subtle protest of fascism. In this 1974 TV production, Antigone (Genevieve Bujold) defies law and confronts Thebes' ruler, her uncle Creon (Fritz Weaver) and the two engage in a lengthy and passionate debate about law and order and right and wrong.
