A young woman, Sin Yun, dates Wu Tian - a gangster. He drugs her and has intercourse, then turns her over to his gang. When she resists, they beat her to death and dump her body in Lake Tian. Her spirit returns to haunt Wu Tian. The ghost also contacts her sister and enters the body of another young woman who has been killed.
A triad boss runs a family business, who deals in arms. He has a good relationship with his sister Amy, until she finds out that he killed their father.
During the Anti-Japanese War, the young female archaeologist Fang Zhizhen and her father Professor Fang taught at the university. Zhizhen, with strong patriotism, was determined to find the medical work of the lost folk magician Hua Tuo.
The Taiwanese jump into the tokusatsu market with this tale of an evil scientist turning people into creatures to do his bidding. Adults are hard to control so he lures a group of boys to his lab. He doesn't quite have the hang of it and after several failures gets it working properly on Hsiao Po. The process is interrupted when Hsiao Wen takes a piss on the control panel. The boys escape and the process is eventually completed by the evil scientist's good brother, and we have our superhero. What follows is a group sing-a-long at an amusement park, motorcycle chases and fights between our hero and lots of bad guys in ridiculous costumes.
The legendary Tamo Monk roams the globe seeking and giving enlightenment. Along the way he encounters both Wu Tang Sect and Shaolin Temple Masters who wish to test his skills and knowledge.
Simon Yam plays a triad boss in a family run business, who deals in arms. He has a good relationship with his sister, Amy (Suen Kin), until she finds out that her brother killed their father (Kenneth Tsang). Amy soon discovers that her brother is being watched by the police, and asks undercover cop Lilly (Emily Chu) to do all she can to arrest him. Lilly teams up with partner Alex Fong who go after the boss and his criminal friends.
This is the first starring role I've seen Casanova Wong play. He and the film's producers seem to be paying homage to Toshiro Mifune, Clint Eastwood, Jimmy Wang Yu et al. Casa is very much the taciturn, serious lone man on a mission. He is always focussed, apparently calm, until he explodes into action.
