The film is in three parts. The first introduces three women who are separately suffering from their own psychological injuries. In the second part, the three women encounter each other and other people as they are each on a journey to an island reputed to have healing powers. The last third of the film deals with the characters on a boat headed to the island.
Park Yong-woo decides to embark on a journey to "the forest." Located on Yakushima Island in southern Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan, the Unesco World Heritage site is home to the renowned forest that is said to have inspired the Miyazaki Hayao animated film "Princess Mononoke" (1997). For his ten-day journey, Park finds the young and beautiful Tagaki Rina to keep him company.

Hyeon-seong, a film director struggling with writing a new screenplay, visits a remote southern island he stayed 10 years ago to fulfill a promise he made with his girlfriend at the time. As he waits on the secluded island to see if the promise will also be kept by now his ex-girlfriend, he gets to know an oddly charming young motel operator So-yeon.
Cheol-Min, a man with a dark, picks up a part-time night job as a parking lot attendant. He sits in the tiny pay booth in the parking lot and stares at the small television. A woman named Jung-Hwa walks into the booth. Cheol-Min realizes the woman is blind and she is confusing him for the parking attendant who worked there previously. Nevertheless, the woman comes back on another night to watch the same television drama series. Cheol-Min starts becoming attached to Jung-Hwa and they find out they are connected by the same incident in the past.
A recently widowed TV producer is drawn to an isolated cabin in a mysterious woods. KANG Min regains his consciousness 14 days after brain surgery following a mysterious accident he had in the forest. Shockingly enough, the first thing he says is that two people died in Spider Forest. Detective CHOI, KANG Min's friend, finds a couple brutally murdered at a cottage in the forest, just like KANG Min described. As the couple found dead at the cottage are identified as CHOI Jong-phil, his senior from work, and HWANG Soo-young, his girlfriend, KANG Min becomes both a witness and key suspect in the investigation.
In early winter, a business man who has drown in debt gives his family a ride to commit a joint suicide. His child asks mom where they are going to and she answers they are going to a picnic…
