Jacob tries to hide the suicide of his father because he is afraid to have to live in an orphanage.
The term “shadow children” is largely unknown in our society. It is about children who live with a terminally ill sibling. The entire attention of the parents is directed to the sick child. The healthy children are in the “shadow”, they take on tasks for which they are still far too young, they fill the family gaps that open up due to the overwhelm of the parents. Often enough, it seems like it is the days in the hospice the healthy children long for since here they are relieved of all burdens for a few hours.
When his mother dies, unlucky writer Conrad Weitzman wants to film the love story of his parents. It even seems, that editor Stuckradt Halmer is keen on the idea. Years after years of mailing and revisions the original story is hardly to recognize anymore and the production is still not in sight. Without further ado Conrad kidnaps the editor with the help of his father and the obscure world of German television network starts to unravel in front of him.
The former boxer Ronald has lost his short-term memory after an accident. Now nothing is the same. Roland's world has no future, and the past only exists in his mind up until his accident.
