Ragnhild is a girl who enjoys dancing. Her school teacher forbids her to go to the dance hall. She rebels against the ban by setting the hall on fire. The outbreak of fire becomes extremely violent.

Bicycle factory director Wallensjö regularly fires his bookkeeper Gunnar, who has taken a liking to Wallensjös daughter Maj, and uses a baby left on hos brother's doorstep to trick Wallensjö into believing they've become parents.

A young worker has decided he must get to buy a lottery ticket with the number 33.333. He manage to get the ticket. This leads to a long series of complicated developments.
