An animated film that is critical of society. After being kissed by a "celestial" muse, an inventor succeeds in building a machine that will clothe the naked of the world. But after a "devilish" inspiration, the inventor expands heedlessly into new markets, leading to ever-increasing growth of the machine until it finally enslaves its inventor, who has become a war profiteer.

After Sumsemann the beetle loses one of his arms to a troll, he invites brother and sister Peterchen and Annaliese to join him on a journey to the moon in a quest to retrieve his lost arm.

Willie, a sweet little woodworm, accidentally becomes a stowaway on Noah's Ark and Noah and the animals believe he is drilling holes into the wooden boat. Can Willie really be responsible?
