Escaped convicts Gary and Lon are caught hiding in a rocket by scientist Dirk Green, who forces them to pilot the ship to the moon. Dirk, who's secretly a moon being, wants to return to his home satellite. Dirk's partner Steve Dayton and his fiancé June stowaway on the ship by accident. Will they all make it back safely? A letter summons American detective Steve Marshall to Sao Paulo, Brazil, in search of fugitive murderess Louise Dunning. Marshall contacts Louise and learns that she murdered her husband only in self-defense. In the meantime, Marshall is set up as a pawn in a counterfeiting ring (they were the ones who sent him the letter), and unwittingly helps the police capture the criminals. Louise decides to remain in Brazil.
A series of grisly murders plague a small mountain community and the sheriff suspects a local scientist whom he dislikes. Together with a former professor and the professor's pretty daughter, the scientist sets about solving the crimes and discovers the killer is an oversized 16th century conquistador, resurrected by a lightning bolt from his mountain grave.
Three thieves rip off a shipment of used money being sent back to the US. As they are escaping the robbery (after having taken a hostage), they wind up on an island in a hotel with an apparently crazed manager and a building full of demented residents.
