The film encompasses the story of Daksha yajna. It depicts how the daksha yajna was desecrated following the jumping into the fire by Lord Shiva's wife Dakshayani. Following this, Lord Shiva marries Goddess Parvati. Later, the Devatas Shiva, Ganga, Gowri all take birth as avatars on earth in the city of Kashi. Eventually, Shiva, Gowri and Ganga all get married in their earthly avatars.
Veerapandiya Kattabomman (1959) is a Tamil feature film directed by B. Ramakrishnaiah Panthulu. The cast includes Sivaji Ganesan, Gemini Ganesan, Padmini, S.Varalakshmi, and Ramaswamy V.K. Eighteen kilometres north west of Tirunelveli lies the hamlet of Panchalankurichi, a place of historical significance. The chieftains ruling Panchalankurichi put up stiff resistance against the British East India Company, between 1798 and 1801.Veerapandiya Kattabomman was a fearless chieftain who refused to bow down to the demands of the British for agricultural tax on native land, a brave warrior who laid down his life for his motherland. The fight he launched in Panchalankurichi has been hailed as the inspiration behind the first battle of independence of 1857, which the British called the Sepoy Mutiny.
Embarrassed by the birth of a son, an unwed Kunthi (M.V. Rajamma) instructs her maid to abandon him in the river Ganga. The child is set afloat and is rescued, adopted, and named Karna (Shivaji Ganesan) by Charioteer Adhiratha and his wife, Radha. After maturing he does not want to follow in his foster father's footsteps and wants to be a warrior. Unable to secure the patronage of any Guru due to his parentage, he is assisted by Suryadev and then by Sage Parshuram, and excels in all forms of warfare especially archery. He then befriends Prince Dhuryodhana (Ashokan), will participate in the humiliation of Draupadi - setting the initial grounds of the battle of Kurukshetra - where he will join Dhuryodhana to battle the Pandavas - none other than Kunthi's sons.
Thedi Vandha Mappillai is directed by P.R. Panthulu released in 1970. Pasupathy(Major Sundarrajan)’s boss is shot by an unknown man, but the blame falls on Pasupathy. The surviving boss sends away his wife Parvati and son Shankar in to hiding fearing his family's fate. But before breathing his last, the boss learns the truth and entrusts Pasupathy the task of finding Parvati and Shankar and hand them their rightful family assets.Several years later Shankar(MGR) now a grown up youth, learns of the injustice committed to his father, heads out to Chennai in search of his father’s murderer.Shankar meets Pasupathy’s daughter Uma(Jayalalitha) and falls in love with her, without knowing her background. Pasupathy finally manages to find Parvati, and soon Suresh a notorious smuggler imprisons Shankar, and impersonates him, for his wealth.Parvati is forced to play along, as Suresh threatens to kill Shankar. The rest of story unveils who won in the end, Shankar or the evil forvces.
Wayward, brash, and disobedient Mohan (Shammi Kapoor) is sent by his angry dad Diwan Badriprasad (Ulhas) to a retired army captain Dayaram (Om Prakash) to learn some discipline and respect. But Mohan asks his friend Anokhe (Mehmood) to switch places with him, and Anokhe agrees to do so. Mohan meets with Meena (Mala Sinha), who lives with her blind dad (Manmohan Krishan). Anokhe is welcomed as Mohan by Captain Dayaram and his daughter Malti (Shubha Khote) in their household. Eventually both Malti and Anokhe fall in love. Things start to get even more muddled when Captain Dayaram finds out that Anokhe is married to another woman, and that Anokhe drives a rickshaw. The police are notified and they are asked to arrest Mohan - they arrest 3 Mohans. Who is the real Mohan?
Nadodi is another successful film of MGR directed by Bhanthulu. MGR & Saroja Devi excellently performed as blind in this movie. The movie contains all popular songs as Androru Naal, Kadavul Seitha Paavam , Naadu Athai Naadu, Thirumbi Vaa, Rasikkathane Indha Azhagu. The good screenplay makes us to enjoy the movie with great performance.
