A young widow flees from her small town and moves to the seaside, where she falls for a fisherman.
Lucia is in love with a honest fisherman of Naples and dreams of marrying with him soon. After a tivial incident, Lucia hurts her hand a young doctor takes care of her. The young doctor, who lives in a villa nearby, is also an accomplished violinist, who can play the instrument beautifully. Lucia can't resist her feelings after hearing the doctor playing and cheats on the fisherman, who swears vengeance.
79 AD. In the city of Pompeii the young Glaucus loves beautiful Jone, although he's courted by Giulia and secretly loved by his blind slave Nidia. One day Glaucus is wrongly accused of murder by a priest of Isis, Arbace, who wants to marry Jone and please Giulia. Glauco is condemned to be devoured by lions in the arena of the city, on that very day the erupting Vesuvius.
