In the Madrid beginning of the 20th century two young people try to make it as artists: Elena intends to succeed in the music world and Pablo wants to become a famous painter.

In the Apollo Theater during the performance of "green envelope", a child is born, son of the actress who plays the goddess of Fortune. His father calls him Fortunato as he believes that he will have a privileged life. But unfortunately, the opposite happens.

In Rome, a beautiful young model named Donina is hired by a sculptor, Leonardo, inspired her to do a statue he hopes will be his masterpiece. The striking statue of Prince Florencio, heir to the throne of Preslavia, who presented at the banquet in his villa in Rome.
