One night in the hottest summer in 20 years, Leandro De La Torre, famous punk singer, shoots out of a window and hits the roof of a car. It is the day of his 27th birthday. Paula, a young fan of twenty-one years old, records everything with her cell phone. Far from knowing that in that video is the key behind the murder of the musician. Martín Lombardo, a staunch supporter of Racing, is the detective in charge of investigating the case. Along with Paula you will discover the conspiracy behind the deaths of all famous rockers at 27 years old. Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Amy Winehouse, Sid Vicious and Leandro De La Torre have a lot in common: in fact, they were all murdered. Paula and Lombardo can be the following. Persecutions, impossible action scenes and completely unexpected twists make up the plot of 27.
In 1997, 17-year-old suburban Buenos Aires filmmakers Pablo Parés and Hernan Sáez pooled $450 to co-write/produce/direct and star in a shot-on-VHS zombie epic of such flesh-ripping, gore-spewing greatness that it instantly drew global cult acclaim and redefined the possibilities of extreme DIY horror. Over the next 20 years, Parés, Sáez and their friends would create two increasingly ambitious – and equally brilliant – viscera-soaked sequels (and several short films) that made them “Argentinian George Romeros who’ve built a small empire of gore flicks”
After three years behind bars, Búfalo has decided to change his life: resume his relationship with his son, get organized, get a normal job, not make any more mistakes. His past, however, does not intend to let him go and convinces him to take one last hit, but things go very wrong and the debt is now not with society, but with Tano, a complicated guy that he does not plan to wait for.
A depressed former champion awakes. He´s tired, a bit out of shape, and his conscience is drilling him. His career as a boxer ended abruptly when he killed his rival with one single punch. That´s why Marcos Wainsberg, the Inca of the Sinai, wants to quit fighting. But today is not the day to be thinking about that. Today his ex girlfriend will come, in peace. Today is a good day. But the doorbell rings and the person at the other side is his cousin, Huguito, the black sheep of the family. And Huguito always brings trouble. Family-sized trouble, of course. Today can be one of those days when everything changes. The only thing that is left to know is whether it will be for good or not… Diablo is an atypical film, to say the least. Regurgitated from the very insides of genre cinema, its furious and corrosive progression leaves you breathless, but also provokes a remarkable morbid pleasure with its accumulation of scenes featuring violence, black humor, and a pure, hardcore swagger.
Movie adaptation of Leonardo Oyola's novel, which tells the story of the legendary DC comics superhero, Superman, if he, instead of falling in Smallville from Krypton, would have landed in the heart of Isidro Casanova, in La Matanza, deep in the west side of Buenos Aires.
