Magic Paris

A young woman prepares a recipe for American-style lobster, which calls for cutting the live lobster into pieces, before throwing it, still alive, into boiling oil. Alone in her kitchen, faced with the two lobsters that are still moving, she tries to kill them as cleanly as possible.

An ex-soldier with PTSD is hired to protect the wife and child of a wealthy Lebanese businessman while he's out of town.

The story revolves around Mia who finds herself caught up in a terrorist attack on a Parisian brasserie one Saturday night in the autumn. Three months later, still unable to pick up where she left off and remembering only piecemeal details of the event, she decides to search through her memory banks. Memories of the man she hid with and whose hand she held throughout the ordeal float back up to the surface. Is he still alive? Is she herself still alive? Mia searches the whole of Paris for this hand which saved her life…

Sarah is a French astronaut training at the European Space Agency in Cologne. She is the only woman in the arduous program. She lives alone with Stella, her seven year old daughter. Sarah feels guilty that she cannot spend more time with her child. Her love is overpowering, unsettling. When Sarah is chosen to join the crew of a year-long space mission called Proxima, it creates chaos in the mother-daughter relationship.
