Aired after Episode 174 - It is the last performance of a great actor and playwright, but several actors suddenly quit. Luckily, the Straw Hats offer to take their place. However, the quitting actors turns out to be more than a coincidence when they meet a Marine with a grudge against the playwright.

One year ago, Yuuta lost his father from a car accident. Now in the 6th grade, Yuuta goes to catch a beetle at a dam on a deep mountain. Yuuta often went there with his father. There, Yuuta meets a strange old man. Due to heavy rain, Yuuta slips and falls down a bridge. He becomes unconscious. When Yuuta awakes, he see a child Saeko in front of him. Saeko takes Yuuta to a village that looks like something that existed 30 years ago. Yuuta has the feeling that he went into the past. He also meets Kenzou, who is the same age as Yuuta. They promise to go catch a bug the following day. Saeko then takes Yuuta to an old house. An old woman there treats Yuuta like a cousin. Yuuta doesn't know what is going on. At night, the strange old man he met earlier appears and tells Yuuta that he will belong to this time period for a month. Precious summer vacation for Yuuta begins ...
Love is unusual for Koizumi Risa and Ootani Atsushi, who are both striving to find their ideal partner in high school—172 cm tall Koizumi is much taller than the average girl, and Ootani is much shorter than the average guy at 156 cm.
Desperate for cash, the Straw Hat Pirates enter a secret race between pirate crews known as the Dead End Competition. There, they must battle against powerful people, including the bounty hunter who wants to kill Gasparde and a climatic battle with Marine-turned-pirate Captain Gasparde.
Invited for a anniversary celebration, Kindaichi, Miyuki and inspector Kenmochi re-visit the Opera House. There they discover that a play of "The Phantom of the Opera" is being rehearsed again. However, it doesn't take long when members of the acting troupe are killed by the "Phantom". Kindaichi will once again have to solve a murder series in the Opera House.
Based on the story by manga master Leiji Matsumoto (The Cockpit, Queen Emeraldas), the 55 minute featurette picks up one year after the events of Galaxy Express 999 in which a young boy named Tetsuro and his motherly companion Matel worked to rid the universe on the Mechanized Empire who had taken over Earth.
Kōmei devises a plan where Zoro and Sanji take part in an eating contest, and the two eat a strange "good-for-nothing-only" mushroom that turns them into good-for-nothing men. The two are then locked in a jail cell. When the rest of the Straw Hat Pirates chase after their imprisoned crew, they land on the island of Nebulandia, which features a mysterious fog made from sea water, and it has the same effects as seastone. The Straw Hat Pirates' arrival on Nebulandia is also a part of Kōmei's plan.
The series is about two boys named Tsukushi and Jin. Tsukushi is a boy with no special talent or traits while Jin is considered a soccer genius. On one stormy night, Jin meets Tsukushi, and they get dragged into the world of soccer.
The Straw Hats visits an island, known as Mecha Island, where a fisherman sings an old folk song about a Golden Crown. Searching for that mysterious treasure, they find a hidden entrance into the island. The island's leader, Ratchet, impressed with the find and in search of the Golden Crown himself, invites the crew to join him in his search and the crew along with Ratchet and his henchmen enter the cave. As it turns out, the islands true form, is that of a giant turtle. Ratchet, who had known this all along, uses his mechanical castle to take control of the turtle, in order to use it, to take over the world. Now the Straw Hats have to stop not only Ratchet, but also the helpless turtle, from crashing into a nearby island.
The special will be the first in the "Episode of" series to cover the Skypeia arc, and will feature a character who did not appear in the original Skypeia arc from the anime.
