Alex Pandian (Tamil: அலெக்ஸ் பாண்டியன்) is a Tamil action-masala film directed by Suraj that features Karthi and Anushka Shetty in the lead roles, while Santhanam plays a pivotal supporting role. Devi Sri Prasad composed the music. The film will also be dubbed and simultaneously released in Telugu as Bad Boy.

Thalai Nagaram is a Tamil film directed by Suraj. The film stars director Sundar C and Jyothimayi. This film was a low-budget production and the soundtrack was composed by D. Imman. This story is a tale of a man who sacrifices his life to kick out gangsters ruining others lives. It also stars Vadivelu, Prakash Raj and Bose Venkat among others. It enjoyed huge success. The soundtrack was a great hit and the song "Etho Nennukiren" charted at the top position for 1 week. It completed 100 days. It's a successful remake of Priyadarshan-Mohanlal starrer Abhimanyu.

Marudhamalai (Arjun), a police constable, goes to work in the village of Nachiapuram after passing his police exams and getting a merit. Here, he meets 'Encounter' Ekambaram played by Vadivel who is his senior officer. He is asked to do all sorts of work for him and one day, Marudhamalai loses a convict on the way to the court due to Ekambaran's soft heart. He then is to clean the floors of the inspector's house and there, he falls in love with Nila. Then, later in the market, after Ekambaram is humiliated by a beggar, Marudhamalai sees Maasi, the 'boss' of the city, killing a person who stood for a candidate in the elections. Then the election commissioner comes to the place and he discovers that elections have not been held for 16 years in the city due to Maasi's opposition.

Saravanan is a do-gooder, who is soft-spoken and admired by one and all. He comes across Gayathri, daughter of arrogant business woman Rajeshwari and falls for her. Coming to know of their affair, Rajeshwari decides to get them both married. The reason is- she is keen on getting a son-in-law, who will always do what she wants and be under her control. But she in for a shock when she comes to know that Saravanan has a past. He is a ruffian and is feared by one and all. Now she plans to halt all plans, while Saravanan takes up the challenge and ensures that he end up marrying his lady love.
