Sajarur Kanta is about a series of mysterious murders where the quill of a porcupine pierces the heart of the victim, killing him or her instantly. One victim does not die and Byomkesh is summoned. Konkona Sen Sharma plays Deepa, who belongs to a theatre group. She gets married to Debasish but makes it clear that she will not share conjugal relations with him. The two stories, one of Deepa and Debasish's married life and the other of the murder mysteries run parallel till they both converge.

The protagonist of this story is Kunal Joseph Baske – whose father converted to Christianity to access social and educational opportunities for his son – a teacher of science in a Christian missionary school in small town Hillolgunj, and is accused of refusing to follow the School’s doctrine to teach the Biblical story of Creation before teaching Darwinian Evolution. He is subjected to suspension from service, and put into custody. The Reverend Basanta Kumar Chatterjee and Anton De Souza are old allies who have fought many battles for the human rights of minority communities, and grave cases of social and legal injustice. Now they find themselves facing each other. It becomes clear that Kunal’s interaction with the School had been utilized by the Hindu fundamentalist political party for its own immediate electoral needs by the fundamentalist party’s local chief, who is also a Santhal, but has been turned by the dominant religion for his own personal political gains.

The story of the bond between an aged blind artist, about to create his last masterpiece and a rebellious young artist girl who comes to assist him.

Tokhon Kuasa Chilo revolves around Akhilbabu, an aged schoolteacher, and his two students. One of them, Sachin, grows to become a political goon while Putu, the other, remains unemployed. When Sachin tries bullying Akhilbabu into letting him marry his granddaughter, the professor turns to Putu for help.
