Eighteen people who were born from 1953 to 1955 were observed by camera from 1961 to 2007 by Junge and his wife, Barbara. The filmmaker dealt with the personal situations (such as deaths of relatives) of the characters and filmed them in dramatic situations. The films reflect not only the individual life stories of the characters but also provide profound insight into the history of the GDR and the reunification process with West Germany. After the end of the GDR and therefore the DEFA, Junge continued the "Golzow-Project" with the ARD and its regional affiliate RBB.
Eighteen people born between 1953 to 1955 were filmed by Junge and his wife Barbara at regular intervals from 1961 to 2007 in a variety of situations which were both public as well as more having a more personal accent (such as the death of a relative).

The latest work portrays five of the "Children of Golzow", who are now all over the age of 50: Ilona, electrical engineer and later youth functionary in Frankfurt (Oder); Winfried, engineer for electronic equipment making, who for a while was also commander of the industrial militia group in his factory; Jürgen, the house painter and wallpaper hanger who is now a transport and supply worker in Manschnow; Christian, agricultural machine fitter who is meanwhile superintendent at the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau in Berlin; and finally Petra, who like Winfried finished high school, wanted to become a doctor, but moved to Mecklenburg as a civil engineer.
Stiff formal exercises of the young dancing pupils and hot beat rhythms in the discotheque.
East German documentary short about Somalia in 1976.
Löffler, a young teacher, strives to deal with his 6th form pupils as partners and in an anti-authorian manner. The film discovers a person who - without the least fear of making mistakes - distrusts the prevalent way.
This first co-production between the GDR and Great Britain is intended to contribute to an understanding of the situation and attitudes of millions of working people in opposing social orders. Using the example of shipyard workers, fishermen, the brigade and family of a trade union active cook and unemployed person of various ages and professions in Newcastle on the one hand and a brigade of crane operators of the Warnowwerft and fishermen of the Warnemünde cooperative on the other hand, insights into the way of life and attitudes of people of our time are to be conveyed.
The former Golzow students get together for their first reunion. The film focuses on Marieluise, a twenty-year old chemical laboratory assistant. She talks about her professional and personal problems and her search for the right place in life.
