Following the events of the Superman: American Alien comic, Superman is enlisted by Bruce Wayne as an international operative of Batman, traveling around the world with Dick Grayson (aka Robin) and Pete Ross. After a fight with girlfriend Lois Lane and a mission in the Arctic involving a new super power known as Aquaman, Clark and Dick are called back to Gotham City for the darkest night of their lives. A night where the city descends into madness, the police commissioner is missing and a demented man in makeup injures a very important woman.

In this giant hybrid film, a plethora of characters such as Wonder Woman, The Flash, Lex Luthor, Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, The Riddler, Dick Grayson, Green Arrow, The Joker, and many more discover themselves and their place in the world as everything moves towards a twilight and a power from the dawn of time.
