The Nelson Mandela 70th Birthday Concert
There was a time when the biggest names in pop music believed they could change the world for the better. Faced with the intolerance and excesses of the established authorities, music celebrities decided to use their prestige to draw attention to the problems that less favoured people in the world faced. Wembley Stadium, London, 1988: thousands of English people fill one of the most famous football arenas in the world to celebrate an unforgettable pop music festival, with a lofty goal above entertainment - the celebration of the seventieth birthday of African leader Nelson Mandela.

If I is a Perrier Comedy Award-winning comedy one-man show written and performed by Demetri Martin at the 2003 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.[12] It was also aired on British television as a special. The show is an autobiographical examination of Martin's life, as seen through various definitions of the word "if." The title of the special comes from a lengthy palindromic poem that Martin wrote; the words "if I" are at the center of the poem.
Brian Cox leads a group of young actors in a workshop exploring techniques in performing Shakesperean tragedy, using Macbeth and Titus Andronicus as example texts.
Helpful hints on making life easier from the pages of adult comic Viz are brought to life by Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer. Save money by filling a glass with marmite and topping it with shaving foam. It makes a convincing pint of stout and has the advantage of tasting nicer.

When the British Amnesty shows finally resumed in 1987 after a six-year hiatus, the show format was retooled in an effort to take advantage of the growing number of rock musicians supporting Amnesty. Instead of the live show being primarily a comedy show with a few musical cameos, the event made a point of giving equal emphasis to the comedy and the music.
Outstanding comedian and musician Dudley Moore regales his spellbound audience in typical fashion with his hilarious edition of the long-running An Audience With series. Backed by a full orchestra - and interrupted by both Peter Cook and the Dagenham Girl Pipers - Dudley entertains his audience of celebrities (including Stanley Baxter, Martin Shaw, Clive James, Lulu and Rolf Harris) and duets with singer-songwriter Christopher Cross on the award-winning 'Arthur's Theme'.

Gary Numan rose to prominence with his heavily stylized synthesizer music and unique personal style. Gary is still recognized as one of the pioneers of electronic music, still creating challenge work some 25 years after enjoying early success with Are Friends Electric? On December 16, 1990, Dr. Feelgood performed at Cheltenham Town Hall. The line-up that night was Lee Brilleaux (Lead Vocals), Steve Walwyn (Lead Guitar), Kevin Morris (Drums), and Phil Mitchell (Bass). Originally a TV special, this concert is available on DVD for the first time.

A global television broadcast of the event in which former Pink Floyd leader singer and composer Roger Waters led an all-star cast in a mammoth benefit performance of his acclaimed concept album, The Wall. Set in Berlin, Germany less than a year after the destruction of the hated Berlin Wall, Waters was accompanied by disparate talents such as Cyndi Lauper, James Galway, Joni Mitchell and Albert Finney in the classic dark musical tale of a rock star's descent into madness and back.

An interview-based documentary broadcast by the BBC in May 1978, made to coincide with a season dedicated to King at London’s National Film Theatre (now BFI Southbank). The 90-year-old master was in attendance at the tribute event and was interviewed on camera. Film clips aside, King of the Movies relies almost entirely on the brilliance of King’s storytelling, which entertains, illuminates and charms. Elegantly dressed in his typical late-period style of bowtie and horn-rimmed glasses, resembling a professor of American history, King reminisces on half a century in “the strangest business in the world”.
