The story of a Chinese patriot who avenges his father's death, agitates Chinese tungsten miners against their Japanese masters and falls in love with a Japanese beauty at the same time.

The Scholar Swordsman Shih Yen-wen and the Good Daughter Pai Chun loved one after another deeply and became husband and wife. Unfortunately, Hell Town Robbers ambushed them and blinded them two, their son also went missing. Longing for Shih’s love for sometime, the Peach Lady seduced Shih to take the “merciless pill” and resulted in Shih’s memory loss and became a puppet controlled by her, causing a commotion in the martial arts world. Adapted from Huang Chun-hsiung’s popular hand puppet show TV series, The Scholar Swordsman, the whole film is permeated with a strong puppetry style. The plot is full of twists and turns, and the fight scenes were creatively designed. Moreover, Shaw Brothers’ martial arts star, Chen Hung-lieh guest-starred in the film. It is a real treat for the sight and sound.

Judy Lee (Chia Ling) is out to avenge the massacre of her family by the Emperor's men and is assisted by another young woman, played by Lung Chun Erh. The two infiltrate the Emperor's court by posing as maids. Carter Wong plays a kung fu fighter sent to help Judy by the monastery where she was raised.

Frank the carpenter is in love with Hsiao Cheng, his boss's daughter. The wife of Frank's former boss has an extra-marital affair with the carpenter-shop's foreman. When the boss finds out, the foreman kills him, and sets the blame on Frank. Frank will fight for his honour, and wins back his good name - but not his former love.

A girl who witnesses the brutal murder of her grandfather plots revenge on the killers who are involved in an opium smuggling ring. Unbeknownst to them, she becomes "The White Butterfly Killer," unleashing her deadly kung fu power.
