Prakashraj and Seetha have a son named Surendhar (Prithviraj Sukumaran). Sumathi (Saranya Bhagyaraj) is the daughter of Sarath Babu. Sumathi lived in a palatial house and enjoyed a luxurious life in her childhood. However, her father Sarathbabu loses his textile business in a fire accident and is pushed to poverty.

abu is a care-taker in a mental hospital who shows much devotion to his job unlike other employees and more affection towards the patients in the hospital. He wears the patients' dress and moves with them like one among them. Due to this nature, the chief doctor, also a priest Father, likes him much more than others, fetching Babu the enmity of two compounders in the hospital. One of the financial donors of the hospital brings a wandering girl to the hospital suspecting that she is mentally ill. Since nobody knows anything about her and she is mentally challenged the hospital admits her.

The Story revolves around a poor girl living with widowed mother and siblings. Poverty and the family situation gets her mother to prostitute herself for the welfare of the family. Director Bhagyaraj, treats this subject from the perspective of the girl who sees the wrong of her mother; but in the later teases the thought of right and wrong with the viewers considering the situation in which the mother gets into that. Bhagyaraj, himself plays the neighbour who first falls in love with the girl, later to realize that she is already in a relationship with another.
Parimalam, a mischievous girl, falls in love with a widower who works as a teacher. She marries him by falsely accusing him of molesting her, but she has to take a drastic step to win his heart.
