This is the South Indian version of Superman. The hero, Raja, witnesses the murder of his parents by cowboys. He vows revenge, and spends the rest of the 2 hours and 15 minutes of the flick getting his revenge. Throw in some dance numbers, bad hairdos, outrageous acting, and you have yourself a classic of Indian Cinema few have ever seen. The actor who plays Superman, Rama Rao Taraka Nandamuri, looks like a fat Elvis impersonator.
Vikram is a 1986 Telugu film directed by V. Madhusudhana Rao, produced by Akkineni Venkat under the Annapurna Studios banner. Akkineni Nagarjuna and Sobhana played the lead roles and the music was composed by Chakravarthy. The film was a remake of the Hindi film Hero (1983) and it is the first debut of Akkineni Nagarjuna as a hero. The film was recorded as a Hit at the box office.
Zamindar Janardhan Rao, a paterfamilias, holds high esteem in society. One of his sons, Bachi, is a vagabond and malicious, his misdeeds increasing day by day.
