It was the second annual Elimination Chamber event. 2 Elimination Chamber matches took place. the first, for the World heavyweight Championship, featured defending champion Edge against Rey Mysterio, Kane, Drew McIntyre, Big Show, and Wade Barrett. The other was for a WWE Championship match at Wrestlemania XXVII, with CM Punk, John Cena, John Morrison, Sheamus, Randy Orton, and R-Truth competing. Jerry Lawler challenged The Miz for his WWE Championship in a singles match and The Corre challenged Santino and Vladimir Kozlov for the tag team Championships.

The first main event was a No DQ, no count-out match that featured The Undertaker versus Shawn Michaels. The second was a singles match for the WWE Championship that saw Batista defend the championship against John Cena. The third was a singles match for the World Heavyweight Championship featured the champion, Chris Jericho, defending against Edge for the title. Survivor Series (2010) was a PPV that took place on November 21, 2010 at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida. It was the 24th annual Survivor Series event. The main event was a Pinfall and submissions only match for the WWE Championship between defending champion Randy Orton and Wade Barrett with John Cena as the special guest referee. A second main event was a singles match for the World Heavyweight Championship between Kane and Edge. Bragging Rights (2010) was a PPV that took place on October 24, 2010 at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was the second and final Bragging Rights event. The primary match of the evening was a 14-man interpromotional elimination tag match for 'ragging right' between the two brands. Invasion (also typeset as InVasion) was a PPV presented by Sony's PlayStation 2. It took place on July 22, 2001 at the Gund Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. This event was originally planned to be called Fully Loaded 2001, as it was advertised at the King of the Ring 2001 event, which immediately preceded Invasion. Invasion was the first PPV to feature the Invasion of wrestlers from the WWF taking on a combined force of wrestlers from World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), later known as The Alliance. The main event, dubbed the "Inaugural Brawl," was a five-on-five tag team match between Team WWF and Team WCW/ECW. Vengeance (2001) was the first annual Vengeance PPV. It was presented by Lugz and took place on December 9, 2001 at the San Diego Sports Arena in San Diego, California. No Mercy was a pay-per-view produced by the World Wrestling Federation exclusively for the United Kingdom. It took place on May 16, 1999 at the Manchester Evening News Arena in Manchester, England. The main event match was Anything Goes Triangle match for the WWF Championship. Defending champion Steve Austin defended against The Undertaker (with Paul Bearer) and Triple H (with Chyna), with interference from the Corporate Ministry, The Brood, Kane, X-Pac and Mankind. Shane McMahon defended the European Championship against X-Pac while the event opened up with a 6-Man Tag Between The Ministry of Darkness (Viscera, Faarooq, and Bradshaw) versus The Brood (Edge, Christian, and Gangrel).

Royal Rumble (1999) was the twelfth annual Royal Rumble PPV. It took place on January 24, 1999 at the Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim, California. The title was taken from a promise by Mr. McMahon that the first entrant in the Royal Rumble, Steve Austin, had "no chance in hell" of winning the match. The theme song for the event would go on to become the entrance music for McMahon's stable The Corporation and later, just McMahon himself, which he still uses. The main event was the annual Royal Rumble match, which saw the winner receive a title shot for the WWF Championship at the WrestleMania PPV. The Royal Rumble centered around the continuing heated rivalry between Steve Austin and Mr. McMahon. The penultimate match for the WWF Championship was an "I Quit" match between Mankind and The Rock, which is remembered both for its brutality and its place in the documentary film Beyond the Mat. The WWF Intercontinental Championship and WWF Women's Championship were both defended as well.

Backlash: In Your House was a PPV presented by Castrol GTX, which took place on April 25, 1999 at the Providence Civic Center in Providence, Rhode Island. It was the 28th and final event to be promoted under the In Your House banner, as shortly thereafter the WWF decided to give their monthly pay-per-views permanent names; Backlash became the name for the post-WrestleMania pay-per-view beginning in 2000 and retained that name until 2009. Survivor Series (1999) was the thirteenth annual Survivor Series PPV. It was presented by Rent-A-Center, and took place on November 14, 1999 at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan. The main event was a Triple Threat match–a non-elimination match involving Triple H, The Big Show and The Rock for the WWF Championship. The Big Show was a replacement for Stone Cold Steve Austin, who had been run down by a car earlier in the night. The undercard featured New Age Outlaws versus Al Snow and Mankind for the WWF Tag Team Championship, Chyna versus Chris Jericho for the WWF Intercontinental Championship, Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle in his WWF in-ring debut against Shawn Stasiak and several Survivor Series elimination tag team matches.

Armageddon (1999) was the first Armageddon PPV. It was presented by Microprose's MechWarrior 3 and took place on December 12, 1999 at the National Car Rental Center in the Fort Lauderdale suburb of Sunrise, Florida. The main event was a No Holds Barred match between Triple H and Vince McMahon. The undercard featured Big Show versus Big Boss Man for the WWF Championship, New Age Outlaws (Mr. Ass and Road Dogg) versus Rock 'n' Sock Connection (The Rock and Mankind) for the WWF Tag Team Championship, Chyna versus Chris Jericho for the WWF Intercontinental Championship, Kane versus X-Pac in a Steel Cage match, British Bulldog versus Val Venis and D'Lo Brown in a triple threat match for the WWF European Championship, The Holly Cousins versus Rikishi and Viscera, Ivory versus Miss Kitty, Jacqueline and B.B. in a Four Corners Evening Gown Pool match for the WWF Women's Championship, Kurt Angle and Steve Blackman and a Tag team Battle Royal won by The Acolytes.

King of the Ring (1999) was the seventh annual King of the Ring PPV event. It was presented by Super Soaker and took place on June 27, 1999 at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. The main event was a Ladder match featuring Shane McMahon and Vince McMahon against Steve Austin for the control of the WWF. The other main match was a WWF Championship where The Undertaker competed against The Rock to for the title. Featured matches on the undercard included the KOTR tournament finals and a Tag team match between Hardy Boyz (Matt and Jeff) versus The Brood (Edge and Christian). Triple H was originally supposed to compete in the tournament, but he wanted to compete for the WWF title instead, so he gave his spot to Chyna.

Rebellion (1999) took place on October 2, 1999 at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham, England. The main event was a Steel Cage match for the WWF Championship between Triple H and The Rock. Undercard matches featured The British Bulldog vs. X-Pac, Kane vs. Big Show in a No DQ match, Jericho vs. Road Dogg, Edge & Christian vs. The Acolytes vs. Hardcore & Crash Holly in a Triangle match, Chyna vs. Jeff Jarrett, a 4-Corners match for the Women's Championship, The Godfather vs. Gangrel, Val Venis vs. Mark Henry, and Jeff Jarrett vs. D'Lo Brown for the Intercontinental Championship (after a cointoss to determine which belt would be on the line).

No Mercy (1999) was a PPV presented by Eidos Interactive's Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, which took place on October 17, 1999 at the Gund Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. Nine matches, including three championship matches took place. In the first, The Fabulous Moolah competed with ivory for the WWF Women's Championship. In the second title defense, Jeff Jarrett defended the WWF Intercontinental Championship against Chyna. Lastly, Triple H defended the WWF Championship against Steve Austin. Also on the card was a tag team ladder match between The New Brood (Matt and Jeff Hardy) and Edge and Christian.

WWF Capital Carnage was a UK-only PPV event that took place on December 6, 1998 at the London Arena in London, England. The main event was a fatal four-way match between Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker, Mankind, and Kane. The WWF Championship belt was defended by The Rock in a singles match with X-Pac. Ken Shamrock defended the Intercontinental Belt against Steve Blackman. Jim Ross suffered his second Bells palsy attack on-air during this event. He did not officially call matches again for the WWE until the main event of WrestleMania XV.

SummerSlam (1998) was the eleventh annual SummerSlam and the fourth presented by Stridex. It took place on August 30, 1998 at Madison Square Garden in New York, New York. The main event a Singles match for the WWF Championship between Steve Austin and The Undertaker. The main match on the undercard featured a ladder match for the WWF Intercontinental Championship between Triple H and The Rock. Other matches include a hair vs hair match between X-Pac and Jeff Jarrett and a Lion's Den match between Ken Shamrock and Owen Hart.

It was presented by Hasbro Interactive's Glover for the Nintendo 64 and took place on December 13, 1998 at General Motors Place in Vancouver, British Columbia. The main event was Stone Cold Steve Austin versus The Undertaker in a Buried Alive match. The Rock defended the WWF Championship versus Mankind while The New Age Outlaws (Road Dogg and Billy Gunn) defended the Tag Team Championships against The Corporation (Big Boss Man and Ken Shamrock).

Breakdown: In Your House was a PPV event, under the In Your House name, produced by the World Wrestling Federation and presented by Stridex. It took place on September 27, 1998 at the Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, Ontario. The main event was a Triple Threat match between Steve Austin, The Undertaker and Kane for the WWF Championship, which ended in controversy. Another match at the event was a Triple Threat match in a steel cage between Ken Shamrock, Mankind and The Rock to determine the number-one contender to the WWF Championship.

Saturday Night's Main Event was a professional wrestling television program produced by WWE. It aired occasionally from 1985 to 1992, under the World Wrestling Federation banner on NBC in place of Saturday Night Live. At the time of the original airing it was a rare example of professional wrestling being broadcast on an over-the-air commercial television network after the 1950s. It coincided with and contributed to the apogee of the "second golden age" of professional wrestling in the United States. In a time when weekly programming consisited primarily of established stars dominating enhancement talent, Saturday Night's Main Event was made up entirely of star vs. star bouts. After leaving NBC in 1991, it aired twice on Fox in 1992 before disappearing for over a decade. When WWE's flagship show, Raw returned to the USA Network in 2005, Saturday Night's Main Event was revived in 2006 as a "special series" to air on occasion on NBC as part of a deal between WWE and NBC Universal. The Raw, SmackDown, and ECW brand rosters were featured on the show.
