A small carnival is in dire financial straits. Their show is attracting fewer and fewer paying customers, as their "attractions" are ageing, out of shape and beset by internal feuds and bickering. One day a beautiful young woman shows up and suggests a way of attracting customers: put on a strip show, with her as the main attraction. Her act attracts customers in droves, but it turns out that the girl has her own agenda, and it isn't to help out the carnival.

Hermann is soon given to intemperate outbursts at his workers, other businessmen, and strangers. Then, he meets Felix, an itinerant laborer, whom he delusionally believes looks exactly like himself. Armed with a new life insurance policy, he hatches an elaborate plot in the belief it will free him of all his worries.

Unable to write enough to keep his publisher's royalty advances coming, he seeks out a woman he imagines is a prostitute and interviews her for material. He is also inspired to utter some poetry, which his brassy, outspoken wife identifies as coming from the famous homosexuality-advocating mystical German poet, Stefan George. This inspires Walter to take a closer look at the gay scene, and he quickly becomes a sort of celebrity there.

Her parents, a bitter Fascist who is a cabaret singer in drag and her wheelchair-bound mother, offer no refuge. Even though all have a philosophical bent, the other whores reject Lily because she tolerates everyone, including men. She tires of her lonely life and looks for a way out. Even that act serves the local corrupt powers.

The gangsters head over to the island and shoot Manuel's father, but Manuel escapes. Murdok captures some of the girls, who must fight off some of the gang members' evil intentions. Eventually the rest of the girls and Manuel arrive to the rescue, but Murdok gets away only in time to be shot by the police.

The Beautiful Legs of Sabrina (Aka: Le bellissme gambe di Sabrina) is a 1959 low-budgeted German crime-drama-comedy film, starring Mamie Van Doren; the movie co-starred, Antonio Cifariello and Rossana Martini. The Beautiful Legs of Sabrina, was Mamie Van Doren's first film away from Hollywood since her career started in 1951. She had signed with Universal Pictures, though she stopped accepting roles from them before her contract was up; she had made both good and bad films, and became known as one of "The Three M's." The other two including, Marilyn Monroe and Jayne Mansfield. Out of "The Three M's" Van Doren is the only one remaining. Beautiful Legs of Sabrina, was a flop when released and is largely unknown in today's world.

It doesn't take long for the charm of Vienna to work its magic on the former king: he quickly comes to terms with the new situation and is able to enjoy the Austrian capital sans all the ceremony and trappings which would otherwise accompany him on a state visit. The princess is content with preparing herself for a career as a pianist concert, while the former king takes a job as a chauffeur in the embassy of the country he once ruled. The revolutionaries are shocked; and his days in Vienna are numbered.
