Paul, an American composer, and Daniel, a Mexican documentalist meet in Real de Catorce. Their encounter makes them face supernatural phenomena which seem to unearth a past buried in the desolation of the desert.

Omar (15) and Karina's (12) mother has a stroke during the family holidays. The siblings, drifting apart, will start a long journey through Mexico towards their grandmother's house. On the road they will face a broken and divided country. Where mistrust, resentment and violence are everywhere. Diverse characters -strangers on their own land- will lead them, in labyrinthic stages, until their final destiny.

Alan’s daily life as a driver and assistant to a federal deputy entails enduring the anger and arrogance of his superior; sufering the contempt of the deputy’s bodyguards and, above all, cleaning up all traces of his boss’ misbehaviour. Today, however, Alan has decided that things will be different.

Frantic to be free of Felix, her wealthy but drunken and violent drug-lord husband, Ana tricks her fresh-from-prison sister, Aurora, and two other ex-partners in crime into coming to her aid. Now that their crew is reassembled, the women begin planning a heist that will rid Ana of Felix and net them enough cash to be set for life.

Based on a real event, where the municipal president, in order to clean the image of his people before a politician's visit, "throws" a group of mentally ill people into the desert.
