Arjun Rai lives a poor lifestyle in Bombay, and works as an auto mechanic for a living. He and wealthy Sapna are in love with each other, much to the chagrin of Sapna's dad, who wants her to get married to someone wealthy. Arjun decides to buy his own garage and borrows money from a client, Jagdish Chopra. He works hard and is able to save some money. When he goes to propose for Sapna's hand, her dad asks his watchmen to throw him out, while doing so they find out he was armed, as a result police are summoned and he is arrested. Sapna re-locates to the U.S. to stay with her aunt, who subsequently convinces her to get married to Gautam Saigal.
This is a movie about a married man who falls in love with another woman. How his wife is able to get him back and how he realises his mistake is the plot.
Mahendra is in love with Maya and would like to marry her. But Maya is a woman of the 20th century, who does not believe in marriage, but would like to continue having a relationship. Mahendra's family pressures him into getting married, and he finally gives in and marries another woman by the name of Sudha. But Mahendra is unable to get Maya out of his mind, and his marriage with Sudha fails, and ends up with a formal separation. Years later, Mahendra and Sudha meet at a railway station, and both do remember each other, and share their experiences after their separation. There is one shocking experience that Maya does not share, but which Mahendra will find out soon.

Vasu Inamdar (Ina) suffers from a disorder where the pictures which he sees comes in his dreams and turn into reality. He discusses this with his wife Shalu and his best friend Digamber Minapure (Mina), Shalu then gets help from Dr A.Z Dcosta (Dika), but Dika turns out to be a fraud and he takes advantage of Shalu and puts her to sleep so that he can avail it in real, Mina comes to know that Dika was taken advantage of and decides to teach him a lesson by bringing the truth in front of everyone.
