Guns N’ Roses are back at Rock in Rio as headliners for the night of September 8, 2022, marking their presence for the 5th time at the festival. Considered one of the great rock bands that emerged in the late 80’s and until today, they are back for another iconic show on the Main Stage, bringing all the power and ferocity of their unique sound. The band’s lineup is Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan, joined by guitarist Richard Fortus, drummer Frank Ferrer and keyboardists Dizzy Reed and Melissa Reese. The repertoire will likely include great classics ranging from “Sweet Child O’ Mine”, “November Rain”, “Paradise City” and new hits like “Hard Skool”, released in 2021.

High drama and low cunning at Reading Festival on Friday. Guns N' Roses took to the Main stage late, but delivered a bombastic run through their greatest hits and numbers from their Chinese Democracy album. The performance featured much loved favourites including Welcome to the Jungle, Mr. Brownstone, It's So Easy and November Rain and no small amount of pyrotechnics. Having come onstage over an hour late, it was unlikely the band would complete an epic 25 track set list. At midnight, event organisers were forced to invoke a Council-imposed curfew, which prompted complaints from Axl Rose and threats of the band's non-appearance at the Leeds festival the following night. Guns 'N Roses headline performance ended in the bizarre sight of the band staging a sit-down protest while drummer Frank Ferrer repeatedly played the intro to Paradise City and Axl wielded a megaphone. A compelling spectacle from one of the world's most controversial rocks bands.

On July 2, 1991, at the Riverport Amphitheater in Maryland Heights, Missouri, just outside of St. Louis, during a performance of "Rocket Queen", Rose noticed that a fan was filming the show with a camera. He asked the venue's security to take away the camera, and after a few seconds decided to take it himself, jumping into the audience and tackling the fan. He had a heated confrontation with the fan before physically assaulting him. After being pulled out of the audience by members of the crew, Rose said, "Well, thanks to the lame-ass security, I'm going home!", threw his microphone to the ground and stormed off stage. The angry crowd began to riot and dozens of people were injured.

He had all of our roadies looking around for people who had scarves or bandannas. I said, “C’mon, Axl, let’s just go on.”He blurted out, “Fuck that. Fuck you.
