Gupi (Prosenjit Chatterjee) is a small-time conman in love with Madhu (Richa Gangopadhyay), a pretty woman whom he met at a wedding he wasn't invited to. Into this picture, the world enters six-year-old Osmita (Baby Titli), who inexplicably believes Gupi to be her dad. And if this wasn't bad enough, Gupi becomes the object of a series of life-threatening attacks by a gang of criminals who seem to know something he doesn't. While trying desperately to save his life and love, Gupi stumbles upon a deadly secret. A secret that will take him to a small town named Debgarh: A town terrorized by its ruthless MLA and the mafia he controls; a town whose inhabitants' only hope for redemption is Gupi. Later, he learns that ACP Bikram Singha Roy (Prosenjit Chatterjee), his look alike, is in danger from criminals.

Krishna's brother Soundarapandi his wife and Krishna are killed by the rival group of Dorai Singam. However Saravana saves Sadhana and takes her to Chennai. Initially Sadhana is not accepted by Saravana's large family but slowly when they come to know about her background they support and love her. The rest of the film is how Saravana tries to help Sadhana to go back to London, and in the process eliminates the entire gang of Dorai Singam single-handedly.

He develops a liking towards Mahalakshmi(Sneha), his collegemate. But Naga(Subburaj), Maha's servantmaid's son, is obsessed with making Maha his own.

His brother-in-law Shakthivel (Nassar), also an upright lawyer, is killed in the process of upholding justice. Surya's sister (Revathy) also meets a pitiful end at the hands of criminals. But Surya refuses to give up. His mission is to make the layman understand his legal rights and how he does so forms the crux of the story.
