With over 45 Dove awards, three Grammy awards, and an American Music award, Michael W. Smith has forever enshrined his mark in the music history books. Smith garnered yet another Grammy nod last Friday with a nomination for ‘Best Contemporary Christian Music Album’ for his latest worship effort, ‘Surrounded.’ Dubbed ‘35 Years of Friends: Celebrating The Music of Michael W. Smith,’ music lovers will experience over 35 artists, from all genres, performing a set list to include many of Smith’s 35 #1 hit singles. In addition, 2018 marks the 35th Anniversary of Smith’s Top 10 single “Friends,” which helped introduce his music to both secular and non-secular audiences. Smith once again shared the song with the world when he performed it at the Washington, D.C. memorial service for his dear friend, President George H.W. Bush, last Wednesday.

Christmas at Belmont features Belmont University students along with Michael W. Smith, CeCe Winans and the Nashville Children’s Choir. Taped in Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center, the show includes classic holiday songs and festive tunes.

Country Music queen Reba McEntire will debut as host for the eighth annual “CMA Country Christmas” event from Nashville’s famed Grand Ole Opry House on Monday, November 27, 2017 on ABC. The two-hour holiday music celebration airs on the ABC Television Network and will feature performances by McEntire and a lineup of today’s best in Country sharing their favorite sounds of the season.

Sunday Best is a reality television Gospel singing competition series which airs on BET. Each season the show and its judges set out to find the best undiscovered gospel talent in America. Finalist compete each week until a winner is crowned. Current judges of the competition are Gospel singers Yolanda Adams CeCe Winans and Donnie McClurkin, former host include Mary Mary & Bebe Winans. Gospel singer Kim Burrell serves as the contestants mentor, and the program is hosted by Kirk Franklin. The Sunday Best winner receives a national recording contract, a new automobile, and an undisclosed cash prize benefiting his or her community as well as the title of 'Sunday Best'. Season one runner up Shari Addison also scored a recording contract, as well as season two runner up Jessica Reedy although her contract was not rewarded from the show. On the season 4 finale, host Kirk Franklin announced that the series would be returning for a 5th season next year. The 5th season premiered Sunday, July 8, 2012. Season 5 ended with a 2 hour special on September 2, 2012. The winner of the 5th season is Joshua Rogers from Greeleyville, South Carolina. He made history as the first male contestant to win the Sunday Best title. Kirk Franklin announced at the close of Sunday Best 6 that there will be a season 7. Season 7 will premier on July 2014.
