After the cession of Taiwan to Japan in 1895 by the Manchu government, people on the island staged a series of anti-Japanese revolts to oppose the tyrannical rule of the Japanese militarists.

The kung-fu kids return to stop an evil dictator.

The Crane Fighter is set just after the majority of the Shaolin monks have been outlawed and killed by the, I think, Ching Dynasty. A few have escaped, and live secretly among the common people. One old guy has a daughter that he has forbidden to learn kung fu, but she does so anyway, by watching some other monks in a nearby temple.

Upon discovering that some of the local contacts are employed by the antagonist of this tale, things start to get complicated.

Did you ever find yourself wondering just how wild a ride it would be if Oliver Twist or the "Little Rascals" movies featured an array of flipping and kicking kung fu kids? Director Yen Yung-tsu obviously had the same thoughts and endowed Alfafa and the rest of the gang with kung fu skills to match their attitudes in. "Crazy Knife", "Bad News" and the rest of the gang take on crooks, extortionists and high kicking killers before they face their ultimate nemesis; the infamous Eddie Ko star of "Duel To The Death", "Lethal Weaapon 4", and the man who put the fear into Hwang Jan-lee in "Hitman In The Hand Of Buddha", when he laid a furious vengeance upon all who crossed his path.

Patriotic swordfighters, for and against the Ching Dynasty head towards the Martial Inn. Three old men with long silver hair are key characters, along with a number of young men and very pretty young women, all very capable swordfighters. Buried under the smouldering looks, suspicions and even lines spoken in dialogue poetic couplets, there is even a murder mystery.

The Lantern Street is a taiwanese Martial Arts movie starring Jimmy Wang Yu.

Lady Karate focuses on Yoshiko's mission to persuade China's la emperor, Puyi to leave his comfortable existence in Tientsin and journey back to Manchuria to be the figurehead ruler of Manchukuo under the direction of the Japanese occupiers. She has ten days to finish the job or she'll be obligated to commit hara-kiri at the end of it. She also has enemies among the Japanese military who want to maintain control over Pu Yi themselves.

Chia Ling aka Judy Lee (SHAOLIN INVINCIBLES, QUEEN BOXER) stars as a woman summoned by a retired general to sing and play the lute for him, but as she performs, he attempts to assault her and in the process murders her. The general and his assistant throw her body and lute into a fire, but Master Ku, a scholar who was watching her father, finds the burnt shell of the lute which now contains her ghost. Together they will now try and bring the general and his henchmen to justice.

Crazy Acrobat is a Taiwan remake of Back Alley Princes, but with Chia Ling (Judy Lee) and Barry Chan in the lead roles and with much more action and slapstick than Back Alley Princes had. Just as BAP was a superb vehicle for Polly Kuan, so this film gives Chia Ling one of her best roles. However, when Polly was sold to the brothel in BAP, she acted shy and innocent; but when Chia Ling is sold to the brothel here, she behaves like a sexy saucy tease, who is going to have a wonderful time. All her excellent fight scenes are similar to her fights in Female Chivalry: playful and fun-loving, even when outnumbered. If you like Chia Ling, you'll definitely want to see this film.

Chia plays a government agent, Iron Phoenix, who’s after a bunch of crooked miners, and Barry plays a boastful young man without much fu talent. Iron Phoenix teaches Barry some martial arts skills, mainly because it helps her investigations about the miners, as she waits for her chance to strike and close down their illicit operation.

Chia Ling plays the title character, who wields her way through a standard martial arts premise, but demonstrates tremendous grace and agility as she chops, kicks, and flies through the air.

Fan Kao-to is a worker who had enough of corruption in Shanghai. He tries to crush the organization alone. An attempt has been made before but ended up with the big Axe Gang, several of their brands in the man. The man's sister arrives in Shanghai at the same time as Fan Kao-to go out on one-man war, and she wants to do her in the fight, also, she takes the war personally.
