The early 90s, Colombia. The government tries to combat drug trafficking with extradition laws. Maruja Pachón and Beatriz Villamizar - the wife and sister of congressman Alberto Villamizar - are kidnapped by the Extraditables. The police begin a search for clues that could help them close in on the kidnappers, and Alberto joins the operation to rescue his family.
Sofia and the Stubborn is the story of an old lady (Carmen Maura), who lives in a cold and quiet village in the Andes and has never seen the sea. For many years her husband (Gustavo Angarita), has promised to take her to the Caribbean, but the plans are always thwarted for different reasons. Until finally one day, at the insistence of a friend (Constanza Duque), Sofia begins the journey alone, leaving her husband immersed in domestic life without her. During her trip to the coast, she comes to know different characters who share new experiences that make her see life differently. These characters are portrayed by young talents such as Jair Romero (a recent revelation for his television role as Joe Arroyo in the series based on the singer’s life), Carolina Lopez, and Carlos Manuel Vesga, among others, along with veterans Julián Arango (protagonist of the new series The Departed) and Alvaro Rodriguez (protagonist of Carlos Moreno’s All Your Dead Ones).
Based on a true story of a British television crew that travelled to Colombia to film a fake documentary about drug trafficking. In one scene, shot in the director’s hotel room, an actor played the part of a character whom the filmmakers passed off as Cali Cartel’s Number Three. They claimed they had risked their lives to get the interview. One sequence also shows a man pretending to swallow capsules of heroine and transporting them to London in his stomach. This phoney TV documentary is an international smash hit. When a London daily discovers that the whole thing is a hoax, a team of British journalists are sent out to Colombia to cover the story. Their report unleashes a scandal that shakes the very foundations of television in the UK.
It begins with the tragedy of Armero, during the course investigates the murder of a beautiful woman and on his way some people die in the end a killing and a cemetery. Emerson Roque Fierro, former policeman and private investigator shadowing, investigates the murder of "Golondrina", a beautiful young woman, occurred in a seedy hotel in downtown Bogota. Without knowing who it is, begins to understand their relationships with a motley gallery of men: a corrupt politician, connected to drug trafficking and paramilitary groups, a bullfighter cunning and good for nothing, a boxer fallen on hard times with a force so stupid as rare Lotero intellect and an insightful blind. And in the midst of this, the dark threads entangling power to everyone, and especially the poor Fierro.
