Operating a Television Network from Vancouver, Sardar Jasbir Singh Grewal, arranges the marriage of his only child, Simar, with Mulhapur-based, Inder Veer Singh, the son of his friend, Arjun, much to the chagrin of his snobbish wife, Kuldip. Simar and Inder find themselves compatible, and an engagement ceremony is arranged. It is during this event that they find out that Inder has no intention of re-locating to Canada, and the ceremony is canceled. After sometime, Inder decides to visit the Grewals in order to try and convince Simar to return to India, and also visit his married sister, who he has not seen for over 7 years, as well as a former girlfriend, Jaspreet, who also live in Vancouver. Once there, he witnesses the plight of his sister, Jaspreet, and other Punjabis, making him question whether Canada is really the perceived 'heaven on Earth'; what C.B.C.D. really means; little knowing Simar has no intention of ever settling down in India.

Mahaul Theek Hai (meaning 'the situation is okay') is a comedy satire about the police force in India. The plot involves a romance between the hero (Smeep Kang) and heroine (Chandni Toor). The hero's brother (Raj Babbar) is involved with an illegal businessman. Played by director and satirist Jaspal Bhatti, the villain of the film is a corrupt SSP (police superintendent) who misuses his authority to threaten people and hide his own excesses. His love interest is played by Bhatti's real life wife (Savita Bhatti).

When the woman's husband unexpectedly shows up with a bottle of acid, which he plans to throw on his wife's face, disfiguring her for life. The woman's lover quickly responds by taking out a gun and shooting at the bottle of acid, which is smashed and lands on the husband's face, disfiguring him. The man than shoots the husband, until he is dead. Both the woman and the man, bury the dead, disfigured body, and go about their respective tasks, not knowing that they have unleashed an unstoppable evil force that will spring forth to bring death and destruction to the man, his brothers, and his wife.

This story is about five criminals who were taken by the inspector-in-charge Vijay for help to the village. Inspector Vijay take those criminals at his own risk as the higher authority denies his approval. Daku Mangal Singh also exploits women in the village. Does Vijay succeed in his mission.

Jaswant lives a middle-class lifestyle with his sister, Laddhu, and widowed mom in a village in Punjab, India. He is friendly with Thanedar Kishanchand and is aware that both Laddhu and Kishanchand are attracted to each other. He discusses this alliance with Kishanchand, and with his approval, arranges their engagement and also prepares himself to propose marriage to his sweetheart, Shammu, who lives with two brothers, Dharmu and Teju, and Dharmu's wife. The village they live in has an annual Kabootar (pigeon) competition. Jaswant wins, but his competitor, Tarhu, is angered, provokes him by shooting his Kabootar dead and has his friend, a corrupt Thanedar, Succha Singh, arrest Jaswant, take him to the Police Station and beat him up severely. When Succha finally lets go of Jaswant, Tarhu and his dad, Jhaildhara, are unhappy.
