When her roommate is brutally murdered, a Beverly Hills singer posts a "roommate wanted" ad in hopes of keeping up payments on her sprawling mansion in this thriller starring Destiny's Child's Farrah Franklin. Karma (Franklin)'s roommate is dead, and in order to remain up on her mortgage payments she'll have to find someone that can move in fast. Though an ad in the paper gets many replies, most of the applicants range from exceptionally quirky to outright insane. Eventually Karma selects the beautiful Sky (Kelle Cantwell) as her new roommate. But Karma's manager Wesley (Charlie Adams) can't help but feeling that something very strange is happening in his client's lavish, and he's about to discover that even the rich and famous can harbor some seriously dark secrets.

The film follows three young men as they are drawn into lives of crime. Nick (Crowley) uses his entry-level corporate job to commit credit card fraud and deals drugs on the side. K-Luv (Mackie) is a member of the "V-Dubs", an African-American street gang. Lincoln (Leung) is a rising figure in the Chinese mafia. Gentrification forces Nick's family to move out of their home in the Mission District into Hunter's Point where they are harassed by the V-Dubs. K-Luv's side business of selling bootleg compact discs leads him to enlist Nick's help to bootleg CDs and to negotiate a truce with Lincoln. Lincoln conducts an affair with his boss' daughter Angela (Carpio), a Stanford student engaged to a medical student classmate.

The Secret World of Alex Mack is an American television series that ran on Nickelodeon from October 8, 1994 to January 15, 1998, replacing Clarissa Explains It All on the SNICK line-up. It also aired on YTV in Canada and NHK in Japan, and was a popular staple in the children's weekday line-up for much of the mid-to-late 1990s on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Repeats of the series aired in 2003 on The N, but it was soon replaced there. The series was produced by Thomas Lynch and John Lynch of Lynch Entertainment, produced by RHI Entertainment, Hallmark Entertainment and Nickelodeon Productions and was co-created by Tom Lynch and Ken Lipman. For home video releases, it was released under the Hallmark Home Entertainment label, making it the first Nickelodeon show not to be released by Paramount Home Video or Sony Wonder.
