Mystery surrounds the past of a young woman suffering from memory loss. As she tries to make peace with her lost past and move on with her new life as Madhu, people from her former life resurface claiming that her actual name is Sivaranjani and there are unresolved issues she needs to face. Babloo (Vishnu) likes to have fun and is always getting in trouble so his father (Chandramohan) gets him a job with Shanker Goud (Srihari). Shanker Goud and Bhallu are rivals and Bhallu is determined to kill Shanker Goud's sister Pooja (Genelia D'Souza). Babloo falls in love with Pooja but Shanker is planning an arranged marriage for her with Ajay (Akash) so Babloo and Pooja elope. The rest of the story is about how Babloo saves Pooja from Bhallu.
Hero Charan (Tarun) a middle class family guy, is cheated by Sanjana (Anitha), a girl from rich family. This is to take revenge on him as he teased her in the past. When the hero comes to see Sanjana after a gap of few months, realizes that she is engaged to an NRI (Rajeev Kanakala), who is an innocent guy and loves to marry a girl with Indian culture. Charan comes to know that the bridegroom happens to be his friend. Then Charan tries to change the egoistic nature of Sanjana from a different angle. Meanwhile, the hero gets a friend Geethanjali (Sridevi), an orphan girl, working in All India Radio and gets attracted by the hero.
Chitram (Telugu: చిత్రం) is a 2000 Telugu film written and directed by Teja. This film stars Uday Kiran & Reema Sen in the lead roles and marked the debut of the lead actors. The film was released as Chithiram in Tamil in 2001 with the film mostly featuring scenes dubbed from the original although scenes involving Manivannan and Senthil were added. The movie was also remade in Kannada as Chitra, starring Prabhu deva's brother Nagendra Prasad Sundaran and Rekha Vedhavyas in 2001 under the direction of Dinesh Baboo and the production on Ramoji Rao. The whole movie was the same as chitram except for the climax. The movie was a superhit in kannada and marked the debut of the lead actors.
