Maria (Carol Kane) is the wife of a murdered Mafia bookkeeper. With her baby in tow, she tracks the hitman to the airport, intending to shoot the man. A pickpocket causes the gun to discharge prematurely, and now it's Maria who is being pursued. She commandeers a cab driven by Ernie (Judge Reinhold), and the chase is on.
The year is 2099. The United States is ruled by the Reverend Jimmy Joe II, in a dictatorship where big guns and fundamentalist religion are used to keep the masses in control. The Reverend's troopers patrol the streets and the slums with assault rifles, ready to prevent any trouble from the revolutionary Kropfelders.
A Miami cop finds out his wife has a female lover, and he begins to have an affair with his female partner. Meanwhile, a voodoo demon from Africa arrives among Miami's Nigerian community and begins decapitating some people and possessing others--including the cop's wife.
After a plague devastates mankind, survivors attempt to return to normalcy in an industrial "quarantine zone." One such survivor is handy with robotics, and after a violent home invasion, he decides to get revenge using his skills.
