Relangi Mavayya is a gentleman from a small village Relangi and he believes in human values and relationships. He has two sons Peddodu aka Mallikharjuna Rao and Chinnodu aka Seetha Rama Raju. Peddodu is an emotional guy and his maradalu Seetha is in love with him since her childhood. Whereas Mahesh Babu is a witty and charming young man and he falls in love with Geetha, the daughter of Rao Ramesh. But Rao Ramesh ridicules Prakash Raj for his low wealth and this strains the relationships between both brothers. In the end Seetha's marries Peddodu, Geetha's marriage is planned with Chinnodu and Geetha's father apologizes to Relangi Mavayya.
Akkineni Nagarjuna plays the role of a sincere Cop, Vamsi Krishna, who is sent undercover along with two other cops. Of which one cop is a close friend and associate to Vamsi played by Subhalekha Sudhakar, by Police Commissioner played by Giri Babu to track down a vicious and dangerous criminal named Raghuram played by Murali Mohan. Vamsi performs surveillance on Raghuram's daughter Geetha played by Amala, by getting into Geeta's opposite building's flat in a Residential complex, to gather details and whereabouts of her criminal father. Geeta lives with her aunt played by Sukumari. When Vamsi in guise of a telephone department inspector, pursues her and falls in love with Geetha, she reciprocates Vamsi's love interest initially but refuses him after she gets to know the truth that he's a Cop and is about to drag her father to prison.
The film shows a strong rivalry between two families passing from generations. At present, Madhava Rao (Nassar) and Raja (Nandumuri Balakrishna) are their heirs who live in the same premises constructing walls in between.

Dr. Nirmala (Vijayashanti), an orphan Christian girl, lives in a convent and wants to become a nun. She is sent to a village to Father Lawrence (Gollapudi Maruti Rao) and she works as a doctor in the village, where she meets an innocent youth, Muvva Gopala Krishna Prasad / Gopi (Nandamuri Balakrishna); Gopi and Nirmala fall in love with each other and after struggle Basava Raju finally accepts their marriage with Nagalakshmi's help. But Cunning Basava Raju prepares the puberty ceremony of Krishnaveni (Shobhana), Gopi's niece, and manages to hide a Thaali inside a flower garland. Gopi, as an uncle, puts the flower garland around Krishnaveni's neck and he gets married with her without knowing. Nagalakshmi complains against Basava Raju for arranging a child marriage, but the complaint is withdrawn. The rest of the story is what happens to Gopi and Nirmala.
