Rasha is thirty, lives with his alcoholic father and trying, and failing, to make ends meet by giving literature lessons to teenage girls and hosting a program on the local radio, presenting new books and interviewing authors. Ivan, a promising judoist in his teenage years, has since had a history of neurosis, psychotic episodes, hospitalization, being heavily medicated, involvement in various occult groups and practices, prior to having been baptized in the Orthodox Church.

This is the story of the multinational and ethnically conflicted assembly of apatrides from war torn ex-Yugoslavia, hired by a crippled war merchant to sew labels upon fake jeans and participate in drug smuggling ring. Forced and humiliated into doing such work they are locked up in a Paris cellar where they find out that their Western fate brings even worse temptations then the war in Yugoslavia that made them leave the motherland.

In the summer of 1991 the war broke out in Croatia. In a holiday house in Fruška Gora hills in Serbia, near the border with Croatia, a group of young people are having a birthday party. They try to have some fun and act like nothing is going on. The party is shattered by the war. They can hear the artillery, but something is also happening between them. Inevitably, some of the boys end up on the frontline and everyone of them is effected by the war that is starting to rage. "The Party" is about individual destinies of the characters trapped in isolated house in hills and surrounded by growing paranoia of the officially not yet declared war.

Old writer Mihailo tells his dying wife a story about lovers and romances set in different seasons. In order to keep her alive, he talks about other people's romaces, but these are supposed to revive their own love story. The heroes of his stories are couples of different age who let go into frivolty of kisses and delicate game of seduction. Mihailo's wife does not like the stories at all because there is no true moral in it - they keep running around in circles. Mihailo decides to tell a new story that should please her. The heroes of the story are young Milos and Mila. Purified by previous experience the two of them move through idealized city scenes, freed from foul play and cheating-it looks like true love can still be found.

Saša finds out that her mother Lila is having an affair. Her father, a well-known judge, desperately tries to keep the family together. Lana becomes Saša's closest friend - a person able to prove that life is sometimes a mere game. In the midst of historical and family chaos, Saša gets involved in a love relationship with her boyfriend's sister.

At the same time, with the help of his uncle from the States, Toma tries to pull his cousin Ilija out from jail, a miner imprisoned for his leftist inclinations.

A three-part anthology film. Story 1: A released convict traces his girlfriend and other people who were responsible for his imprisonment. Story 2: A factory worker Pantic comes to Belgrade where he befriends a waiter. Having no overnight lodge, Pantic spends the night in the bar where his new acquaintance works, and becomes a victim of group of people who start picking on him. The initially protective waiter joins their harassment, and that's when Pantic pulls out a knife. Story 3: A female reporter gets back from the province without getting job done. On her way back, she meets an abused woman who lives with her husband in a trailer, making grill. The two will run away together, facing many hazards and trials.

In one Vojvodinian castle, the preparations for the play that will be performed by members of the Association of the blind are in the process. The play is dedicated to the Jews from America who are supposed to come and visit the place of their ancestor's massacre in 1942, during a raid in Novi Sad. The plot was to be carried out according to the original stories of witnesses who have gone through this tragic event. However, the initiators of the show manipulate the blind people in order to smuggle bombs for Albanian terrorists.

His virtually abandoned wife, Milena, becomes emotionally involved with Petar Bajevic, Comintern's agent and Bogdan's war buddy. Milena and Bogdan's son Vladimir, now a member of the Communist Party himself, turns against his father for ideological reasons. Milena and Ivan's father Vukasin is an epitome of civic Yugoslavia and its principles, which fails to resist the invasion of the oncoming circumstances and ideologies. The Second World War breaks out, Milena and her brother go to Prerovo, Vladimir joins the partisans, while Petar and Bogdan end up in the Gestapo at the same time. .

Besieged Sarajevo, 1993, Haska (28) finds a love letter in her husband's pockets after his death on the frontline. She tries to understand what has happened and eventually decides to leave Sarajevo with her son Denis (9).

A powerful lyrical story about the sergeant of the former Yugoslav Army Zika Kurjak, from childhood in miners' home, through military days, to severe depression, imprisonment and the metropolitan madness. Kurjak, the personification of human kindness, who is impaired and disturbed, as an old and ornate in the hospital, speaks in detail about his life. Through this searing story of sergeant Zika Kurjak and his life, some of the crucial historical circumstances of the 20th century are being blunted, as well as the fate of the heroic Serbian army, which becomes part of the new system after unification, and which the system is gently destroying leaving individuals individually fighting for it and prevent inevitable decay.
