At age 12, in the twilight of the Chinese Civil War, GAO Bing-han followed the Nationalist government in their exodus to Taiwan under his mother’s orders. Now, in his 80s and a lawyer, GAO encounters three mothers in his work. The first is HONG, who tolerates her son’s violence. The second is JIANG, an indigenous woman who isn’t accepted by her father-in-law. And the last one is XIE, who seems elegant on the surface but is greatly depressed due to her family problems. In the midst of dealing with the conflicts of these three, GAO can’t help but sigh: “Did the war really end?”

Comprised by two love stories: The first story features Donnie Yen as a traffic cop, “Mr. Cool” who never smiles due to a rare disease. He meets and falls in love with Michelle Chen, a patient with amnesia, and spends most of her time looking for her missing fiancé. The second story features Zhendong Ke as a Criminal Intelligence Bureau cop who falls in love with Angela Baby after a 7-day "game of romantic" with her. But when his bureau starts monitoring her, he begins to have doubt on her. Is she a criminal?

A woman is transported into a world as strange and beautiful as her dreams in this fantasy. Singing (Nikki Hsin-Ying Hsieh), who comes from a family of poor shopkeepers, earns her living as a cleaning woman on a ferry that services a military base. Singing has a recurring dream in which she meets a handsome stranger who speaks in language she cannot understand, and one day on the ferry she meets Tsai Hsien-tsung (Bryan Chang), a soldier who resembles the man in her dreams. The soldier is immediately smitten with Singing, and when the power goes out on the ferry, the two are thrown into a strange netherworld where they sail to South America on a deserted vessel as Singing loses her heart to the military man.
