Along with other matches, the event will feature matches of the 5th Jim Crockett Sr. Memorial Crocket Cup Tag Team Tournament. Wrestling Legend Jeff Jerrett is the ambassador for the tournament. The event will take place over two nights on March 19 and March 20 from Tennessee State Fairground Sports Arena in Nashville, TN.

Wrestle Kingdom 12 in Tokyo Dome is a professional wrestling event promoted by New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW). The event will take place on January 4, 2018, in Tokyo, Japan, at the Tokyo Dome. The event will be headlined by Kazuchika Okada defending the IWGP Heavyweight Championship against Tetsuya Naito. The semi-main event will be Kenny Omega defending the IWGP United States Championship against Chris Jericho.

Ring of Honor presented State of the Art, headlined by an ROH TV title Proving ground match. Ian Riccaboni, Colt Cabana and Sumie Sakai welcomed everyone to the show before the proceedings got underway.

ROH began its tour of the state of Texas last night. The Aztec Theater of San Antonio hosted the first night of State of the Art. The evening has been described as one of the best broadcasts in Honor Club this year (excluding PPVs) and was attended by international talents such as Atlantis, Lance Archer, Hurricane Helms or Thunder Rosa, among others. ROH fighters Flip Gordon and Marty Scurll made their return to the company. After a month in Japan fighting in the Best of the Super Juniors tournament, both fighters returned to the United States. The Briscoes, on the other hand, were not present at the show due to a problem with their flights.

ROH 15th Anniversary will feature professional wrestling matches that involved wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds or storylines that play out on ROH's television program, Ring of Honor Wrestling. Wrestlers will portray heroes (faces) or villains (heels) as they follow a series of events that build tension and culminate in a wrestling match or series of matches.

King of Pro-Wrestling (2017) was a professional wrestling event promoted by New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), which took place on October 9, 2017, in Tokyo at Ryōgoku Kokugikan. It was NJPW's biggest show between August's G1 Climax and January's Wrestle Kingdom 12 in Tokyo Dome. The top two matches featured Kazuchika Okada defending the IWGP Heavyweight Championship against Evil and Tetsuya Naito defending his status as the number one contender to the IWGP Heavyweight Championship at Wrestle Kingdom 12 against Tomohiro Ishii. This was the sixth event under the King of Pro-Wrestling branding.

With 22 participants, the tournament marks the largest G1 Climax in history. Like the previous year, all events in the tournament were made available on iPPV through Niconico and Ustream. Kota Ibushi was scheduled to take part in the tournament, but on July 18 New Japan announced that he would have to pull out due to a concussion suffered at the beginning of the month. The following day, Tomoaki Honma was named Ibushi's replacement in the tournament.

The World Tag League is a professional wrestling round-robin tag team tournament held by New Japan Pro Wrestling as a spin-off of the popular singles tournament, the G1 Climax. It was created in 1991 as the Super Grade Tag League, as a continuation of a regular tag team tournament held since 1980, gaining the name G1 Tag League in 1999. In 2012, New Japan's new owners, the Bushiroad company, renamed the tournament to its current form. The winners of the tournament, assuming they do not already hold the belts, obtain #1 contendership to the IWGP Tag Team Championship. Wrestle Kingdom 8 in Tokyo Dome will be the twenty-third January 4 Dome Show held by New Japan Pro Wrestling. The event will feature ten matches, six of which are contested for championships. For the first time in twenty years, the NWA World Heavyweight Championship will be defended during the event with NWA representative Rob Conway defending against Satoshi Kojima. The event will be headlined by a double main event; Shinsuke Nakamura defending the IWGP Intercontinental Championship against Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kazuchika Okada defending the IWGP Heavyweight Championship against the winner of the 2013 G1 Climax, Tetsuya Naito. A fan vote decided the order in which the two matches take place during the event; the Heavyweight Championship match will go on first and the Intercontinental Championship match will be the final match of the event.

Invasion Attack was a professional wrestling event promoted by New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW). The event aired domestically as a regular pay-per-view (PPV) and internationally as an internet pay-per-view (iPPV). The event was headlined by Hiroshi Tanahashi defending his IWGP World Heavyweight Championship against rival Kazuchika Okada.

Wrestle Kingdom 7 in Tokyo Dome (subtitled "Evolution") was announced on February 29, 2012, as taking place on January 4, 2013, at the Tokyo Dome. Wrestle Kingdom 7 in Tokyo Dome was the twenty-second January 4 Tokyo Dome Show held by New Japan Pro-Wrestling. The event featured outside participation from All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW) representative Keiji Mutoh, Pro Wrestling Zero1 representative Shinjiro Otani, and American freelancer Shelton Benjamin. Originally, Zero1's Daichi Hashimoto was announced as taking part in the event, but on December 27 it was announced that he had fractured his left forearm and would be replaced by Zero1 president Shinjiro Otani. For the first time in five years, the event did not feature wrestlers from Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). For the first time, the event was made available for international market on internet pay-per-view.

It was the first event under the King of Pro-Wrestling name. In the main event Hiroshi Tanahashi defended his IWGP Heavyweight Championship against Minoru Suzuki.

Over the Limit (2010) was a PPV presented by Axe Hair, which took place on May 23, 2010 at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan. It was the first event promoted under the Over the Limit name. In the main event from the Raw brand, John Cena faced Batista for the WWE Championship, while The Big Show versus World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger was the main event from the SmackDown brand. Matches on the undercard included Randy Orton against Edge, CM Punk facing Rey Mysterio, and Drew McIntyre defending the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Kofi Kingston. Other championships defended at the event were the WWE Divas Championship and the Unified WWE Tag Team Championship. The event drew 197,000 pay-per-view buys, and was attended live by 11,000 people. Five wrestlers sustained legitimate injuries during the course of the show.

Money in the Bank was a PPV that took place on July 18, 2010 at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri and presented by A&E's Criss Angel Mindfreak. The main events were the two 8-man Money in the Bank matches. The Smackdown MiB match featured Big Show, Matt Hardy, Kane, Christian, Kofi Kingston, Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre, and Dolph Ziggler. The Raw MiB match featured Edge, Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, Mark Henry, The Miz, Ted DiBiase, Evan Bourne, and John Morrison. Sheamus defended his WWE Championship in a steel cage against John Cena, Rey Mysterio defended his World heavyweight Championship against Jack Swagger, and The Hart Dynasty defended the Tag Team Championship Belts against The Usos.

Extreme Rules (2010) was a PPV presented by KFC, which took place on April 25, 2010 at the 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, Maryland. It was the second event promoted under the Extreme Rules name. There were eight matches scheduled on the event's card, all of which featured an 'extreme' stipulation, with no regular singles matches on the card. The main event was a Last Man Standing match between WWE Champion John Cena and Batista. The World Heavyweight Championship was defended by Jack Swagger against Randy Orton in an Extreme Rules match. Edge fought Jericho in a Steel Cage, Sheamus challenged Triple H to a street fight, CM Punk fought Rey Mysterio in a Hair Match, and a Gauntlet match took place for a shot at a Tag Team Title match.

Night of Champions (2010) was a PPV that took place on September 19, 2010 at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois. It was the fourth annual event under the "Night of Champions" name and the tenth annual event under the Vengeance/Night of Champions chronology. Similar to the previous three events, the concept of the show was that every championship in the company was defended at the event. Randy Orton, Sheamus, Wade Barrett, Edge, John Cena, and Chris Jericho competed in a Six-pack challenge elimination match for the WWE Championship. The Undertaker challenged Kane in a No Holds Barred match for the World Heavyweight Championship, Daniel Bryan faced The Miz for the US Championship, Dolph Ziggler faced Kofi Kingston for the IC Championship, A Tag Team Turmoil match took place for the Tag Team Belts, and The Big Show fought CM Punk in the first non title match at a Night of Champions PPV.

Fatal 4-Way was a PPV which took place on June 20, 2010 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York. The concept of the show was based around three championship matches in the card that were contested as Fatal Four-Way matches. The WWE Championship was defended by John Cena against Randy Orton, Edge, and Sheamus. The World Heavyweight Championship was defended by Jack Swagger against CM Punk, Rey Mysterio, and the Big Show. Kofi Kingston defended the IC Belt against Drew McIntyre, The Miz defended the US Belt against R-Truth, and Evan Bourne fought Jericho in a singles match.

Bragging Rights (2009) was a PPV presented by THQ's WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2010. It took place on October 25, 2009 at the Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was the first Bragging Rights event. A Bragging Rights trophy was awarded to the show that won the most matches. Matches included Raw's US Champion The Miz versus SmackDown's IC Champion John Morrison, SmackDown's team of Michelle, Beth and Natalya versus Raw's team of Melina, Kelly and Gail, and Raw's team of Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Big Show, Cody Rhodes, Jack Swagger, Kofi Kingston and Mark Henry versus SmackDown's team of Jericho, Kane, R-Truth, Matt Hardy, Finlay, Tyson Kidd and David Hart Smith. The show also contained three world championship matches including the main event where Randy Orton defended against John Cena in an Anything Goes Iron Man match for the WWE Championship, and The Undertaker defended against CM Punk, Rey Mysterio and Batista in a Fatal Four-Way match for the World Heavyweight Championship.
