One day, while reading a comic about a secretary who falls in love with her boss, she dreams that she goes to work as a typist at the Churubusco Studies laboratory, where her boss entrusts her with a very important job.

The space will be witness of dreams, hopes, disappointments and dramatic destinies of its residents, delivering an intimate human history of Mexico through the decades. La Habitación will reunite eight directors that will expose the reality of each historical period resulting in a profound and inspiring portrait of modern Mexico.

Victor, a 37 year old hairstylist at Mexico has a really standard routine: he works, plays domino, watches soccer and cleans his house. He also likes romantic music and old classic mexican movies. But suddenly, he has to break this routine and go to Rio the Janeiro.

Denisse is 23 years old. She lives in Mexico City. She wants to become a DJ. Laura Esquivel is 19. She was born and raised at a small ranch in Zacatecas known as El Verde. She is goatherd. With Denisse playing music and Laura tending to the goats, it seems improbable that their paths will ever cross, but meeting each other is quite feasible in the world of their thoughts.

Iván Ávila Dueñas uses domestic found footage material. We observe a mineral engineer, a priest and a constructor filming their personal life in Zacatecas, Mexico between 1930 ad 1950.

Six characters narrate their complex existence through his slides from one to another body, to form a network of shared memories and experiences. The need to explain this strange condition connects them via objects, messages and memories.

Having partaken in Eden not only of the tree of knowledge, but of the tree of life eternal as well, Adam and Eve became immortal and now find themselves wandering throughout the world in a journey of extreme sexuality and boredom.
