One day, while reading a comic about a secretary who falls in love with her boss, she dreams that she goes to work as a typist at the Churubusco Studies laboratory, where her boss entrusts her with a very important job.

The space will be witness of dreams, hopes, disappointments and dramatic destinies of its residents, delivering an intimate human history of Mexico through the decades. La Habitación will reunite eight directors that will expose the reality of each historical period resulting in a profound and inspiring portrait of modern Mexico.

Iván Ávila Dueñas uses domestic found footage material. We observe a mineral engineer, a priest and a constructor filming their personal life in Zacatecas, Mexico between 1930 ad 1950.

Six characters narrate their complex existence through his slides from one to another body, to form a network of shared memories and experiences. The need to explain this strange condition connects them via objects, messages and memories.
