An actor playing Othello in a stage production of Shakespeare's play becomes jealous of his wife's supposed infidelity and seems bound to kill her in the scene in which she, enacting Othello's falsely accused wife Desdemona, is murdered by her jealous husband.

A thespian believes his wife is being unfaithful in real life while they are playing Othello and Desdemona on stage. He actually tries to strangle her on stage, but they are finally reconciled in a gondola. Ivor Norvello plays the villian and Victor Mclaglen appears in only his second film.
