Punarjani movie is about a 11-year-old child Appu (Pranav Mohanlal) who has a feeling that his mother gives more love and attention to his younger brother (Unni). Though Appu argues with his mom to give his younger brother the same workload as he does, he is the one who goes to the temple early morning to sing the Sopanam after which he provides milk to a tea shop and then goes to school.His only friend is the Swamiji who sits next to the temple and tells him the stories of the famous
Vindhyan (Jagadish) an unemployed countryside man, is in love with his childhood friend and cousin Neelima (Mahima) who is now in the US. His uncle and Neelima's father, Rajappan Nair (Rajan P Dev) who is a wealthy businessman promises Vindhyan that he will get both of them married. However Neelima is in love with Shivapal (Saikumar) whom she meets in the US. On her return, an astrologer (Narendra Prasad) predicts that her first husband will get killed a few days into their marriage. Neelima decides to marry Vindhyan so that he will end up dead as her first husband. With the help of Shivapal and her mother Padmavathi (Ponnamma Babu), Neelima tries many tricks to get Vindhyan killed.
Rakhi's wedding is ruined when her fiance's family learns about her mother, who is a prostitute. She blames her mother for her plight, unaware of the truth.

Kottayam Kunjachan is about an erstwhile thug, who has just been released from jail. He has served a sentence of 7 years, for killing a man in a fight gone bad.After an altercation with his previous employers, he is arrested and later bailed out by his guardian, a Christian priest who found him as an infant in a garbage heap and raised him as his own. Following his father's advice, he leaves Kottayam and its bad influences for Odaangara. He starts a technical institute, accompanied by Bosco, his assistant. He generally endears himself to the village populace. It is there that he meets Mikhael and his wife, and gets in their good books by rescuing Mollykutty from a kidnap attempt by Jimmy and gang. leyamma convinces Mikhael to rent out their outhouse to Kunjachan, as a deterrent from further attacks by Paappan or Jimmy. Mikhael then convinces Kunjachan to go to confession, and start living as a good Christian.
Four small time thieves make a living by doing minor robberies and con acts. One of their robberies goes awry when they are caught by the owner of the house. He inspires them to use their talents for the greater good.
