Based on the 2005 Japanese novel The Devotion of Suspect X by Keigo Higashino, the project revolves around a single mother, played by Kareena Kapoor, who lives with her daughter alongside their neighbour in Kalimpong. It is here that the neighbour, who is revealed to be in love with her, offers his help in disposing off the body.
