When the wife of Indian immigrant Matt Singh dies suddenly (having kept her illness a secret), the successful businessman suddenly finds himself adrift and despairing -- feelings only heightened by a visit from his son. After some personal trauma, Wilson Walmsley is invited to work as a substitute teacher in a suburban public high school.
