Mexican horror film about an American painter named Mary (Cristina Ferrare) who is living in Mexico where she sells her works and also kills people for their blood. It turns out Mary is a vampire but not the traditional one with fangs. Since she has no fangs she must stab or slash the throats of her victims but soon she has a new man (David Young) in her life as well as a mysterious man (John Carradine) in black who appears to be doing the same type of murders.
Based on a real event, the action takes place in Havana in 1931, during the dictatorship of Gerardo Machado. Rachel, a young French showgirl, is murdered during an orgy involving personalities of the bourgeoisie and politics. The tabloid press echoes the story to divert public attention from the serious social problems that affect the country. The governors on their part order to silence the case to protect the characters involved.

Proudly wearing his new boots, the boy falls off the wooden bridge into the river and drowns as the boots, symbolic shackles of civilization, fill up with water and pull him beneath the surface. Sleigh and Gale observe the Indians as they recover the body and stage an elaborate funeral for the dead boy
