Eternal forests and snow-capped mountains ... It is the last third of the 19th century and in some valley in the north of Navarra the death throes of the last Carlist war are experienced ... A projectile destroys a girls' hospice and only one girl survives, how badly injured she is rescued by a beautiful woman who cares for her until she is cured. However, fate is not on her side, and as a result of an unexpected attack on her hiding place, the girl is left alone and isolated in the mountains. It will be then that she will discover her new and strange condition, which will prevent her from seeing the light of day, and from having an ordinary life like any other girl.

Human bones are found at the Garizmendi farmhouse. Farmers Fermín and Karmen call their son Néstor, who reports the matter to the authorities. But, when the agents turn up, the bones are gone. Suddenly, the bell on the nearby chapel begins to peal. This bad omen announces the coming of tragic events and reopens old wounds within the family and those around it.

Inspector Nerea García is sent to a small fishing village to investigate the disappearance of a skipper. She will soon realize that it is not a routine case and that nothing is what it seems. The past is always unpredictable.

When the penalty is just about to be kicked, a group of indignant fans with the referee invades the field and prevents the kick. The competition committee decides that the penalty must play the following Sunday, in the same goal, with same players and the field closed to the public. El Penalti más largo del mundo, (The Longest Penalty Shot in the World) is exactly the history of that week of delay.
