Manoja marries Prabhu for her mother's sake, but dislikes her husband. Gradually, she warms up to his dogged attempts at sparking a romance, but Prabhu, who is frustrated with her indifference, ruins it all on their wedding anniversary. The couple separate but neither can forget the other. Can Manoja find it in herself to forgive Prabhu and get back to him?
Madhu (Arya) and Remya (Anushka) slowly but surely falls in love but fate has them separated. Parallelly, we have Maravan (Arya) and Varna (Anushka) a high spirited warrior living in a fantasy world and have a different love story. Varna is tough and does not want to get married and be someone's slave. Madhu goes in search of his lady love to fantasy world filled with flying creatures, beautiful green forests and his life intervenes with that of Maravan. How he helps the lovers, saves Maravan and how Varna discovers love forms the rest of the story.
The plot revolves round the life of Karthik (Dhanush) a struggling freelance photographer in Chennai who does portfolios, weddings and other functions. Karthik has a keen interest in wild life photography and friends call him a genius, though he is bit of a loner. His role model is Madhesh Krishnaswamy (Ravi Prakash), a world renowned wildlife photographer and his dream is to be an assistant to this arrogant man. Karthik hangs out with his friends and is extremely close to Sundar (Sundar) who introduces his girlfriend Yamini (Richa) to the gang. Initially Karthik and Yamini can't stand each other but there lies the twist, when opposites attract.
This mysterious tale revolves around the daughter of a missing archaeologist, who goes in search of the missing 'Chola' tribe with her helper (Karthi Sivakumar). They embark on a journey to find a missing sacred idol belonging to the Pandyan kingdom, that was captured by their arch-enemy, Chola kingdom some 900 years ago, which ultimately leads to the discovery of existing Cholas, who are eagerly awaiting their last ray of hope, a messenger who has been foretold, would take them back to their home land to reclaim their kingdom.
Vasu falls in love with Keerthi, but when he expresses his feelings to her, she turns him down and says that her marriage has already been arranged. He later learns that she is set to marry his close friend Cheenu.
