Arjun Pandit is a 1976 Hindi movie starring Sanjeev Kumar, Ashok Kumar, and Vinod Mehra, and directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. Bindu, Deven Verma, Sachin, and Keshto Mukherjee play other roles in the movie. The film's music is by Sachin Dev Burman.
The newcomers Pradip and his sister Rekha, played by Mahendru, gave him hope that he could do better in his life. During that time, he fell in love with Rekha and soon enough, he becomes a popular comedian, touring the country with his act. When he returns, it is to news that Rekha's marriage has been arranged and it is her wish that he perform at her wedding. This becomes the most difficult performance of his life.
Twenty years ago, after killing his brother, Sardar Rajpal flees from his hometown in Shillong and re-locates in the rural area of Assam along with his adopted daughter, Meena. He asks his wife, Kamla, to send their son, Shankar, so that he can employ him and get him married to Meena. Shankar arrives and he is welcomed by Sardar who employs him and introduces him to Meena. A few days another young man shows up at his door claiming that he is Kamla's son. A baffled Sardar also welcomes him, and puts both the young men under observation in order to find who the real Shankar is. The question remains why would anyone want to impersonate Shankar, and what will happen to Sardar himself after the Police catch up with him for killing his brother 20 years ago.
Roopa lives a wealthy lifestyle with her widowed dad, Captain Suresh, and brother, Shekhar. After she returns from abroad, she is told that she must now prepare to get married to her betrothed, Ratan, who is the son of a close friend of Suresh. Everything changes suddenly when Roopa meets with a handsome young man, Raj, and both fall in love with each other.
