The plates were made in Germany during World War II, and were discovered by a radical right-wing group hoping to restore the Nazi Party to power. The American gangsters are in cahoots with a group of wealthy American neo-Nazis sympathetic to the new German cause, led by fugitive war criminal Count von Delberg (Kent Taylor); the count has in turn recruited a vicious motorcycle gang, the Bloody Devils, to do his dirty work.
Count Otton von Delberg is trying to sell counterfeit bills to fund a resurgent Nazi party. An organized crime syndicate has sent Mark Adams to make a deal for the bills, unaware that he's also a double agent for the FBI. Adams is also a renowned lady's man, but whether it's teenage jailbait or the loyal daughter of a Nazi war criminal, he's meeting all the wrong ladies. Despite being released after Adamson's Hell's Bloody Devils (which added bikers to capitalize on the biker movie craze), this was actually the original version of the movie completed in 1970 but later released on television in 1972. It was released again with minor edits in Europe in 1974 under the title Smashing the Crime Syndicate.

The show was created by Ted Corday who created the long-running soap opera Days of our Lives. The show aired in the morning at 11:30 AM; it was paired with Morning Star which aired before it and also was created by Ted Corday. Paradise Bay was one of the first soap operas to air in color.

Project X was one of a cycle of anti-Red films produced in the late 1940s. Keith Andes plays an ex-Communist who is strongarmed into cooperating with the Feds. Pretending to become a "comrade" again, Andes rejoins the local Communist cell. Moving about freely, he is able to track down a gang of spies who are smuggling atomic secrets. Filmed on location in New York, Project X has the surface "feel" of a documentary, though the dialogue is strictly from the funny papers. Keep an eye out for a very young Jack Lord.
