Kôichi Imaizumi

Two guys are trying to have sex, but the earthquakes keep coming back, interfering with their intimate moment. Too scared to fall asleep, they stay up all night to share their earthquake memories.

Kôichi is a Japanese man living alone in Berlin. He has no job and hardly any friends. One night Kôichi meets Ryota at a bar which is also a sex club. Ryota came to Berlin to visit a German guy whom he had "met" on a dating app. His high hopes for romance (and marriage?) were quickly crushed since the German was only interested in sex, not even letting Ryota stay for the night. That is why Ryota ended up spending the night in the dark room of the sex club. Kôichi for some reason lets Ryota stay at his apartment. They have sex. Ryota goes out almost everyday to get laid by various local men and comes home to Kôichi's. Increasingly caught up with a strange feeling that is akin to but not quite frustration or curiosity (needless to say, it is not even close to love), Kôichi gradually gives himself up to sex with Ryota.

Queer Boys and Girls on the Shinkansen brings together ten filmmakers and artists who consistently affirm what it means to be gay or lesbian in their work. Habakari chose ten filmmakers to make a five-minute work each, developed around a gay or lesbian theme, and compiled the resulting shorts in random order to create this omnibus film. The result is a queer film, by queer filmmakers, for a queer audience. Each short is its own short story, and the styles range from drama and experimental film and animation.

The first film by Kôichi Imaizumi is a nighttime drama taking place in Shinjuku, Tokyo’s gay district. Gacchan is marking his birthday and his partner Takayuki is waiting for him at home so they can celebrate. However, not only does Gacchan forget about his partner but he is also flirting with others in the hood. Takayuki leaves their apartment and embarks on a night journey that will lead him to cheat on his partner. Will they be able to rehabilitate their relationship? Koichi creates an honest and effective film about partnership, sexuality and identity in a world full of endless temptations. A low budget independent work presenting rarely seen aspects of Japanese cinema.

The story of an angel who encounters a series of men in a public toilet. A fable about identity.

Gunji Kawasaki's 1997 movie "Juvenile Crime" aka "Schoolgirl in Cement" was based on the same real-life murder case as Katsuya Matsumura's 1995 movie "Concrete-Encased High School Girl Murder Case" and Hiromu Nakamura's 2004 movie "Concrete." It has been mistaken for Matsumura's movie by a number of bootleggers. In November of 1988 four young men abducted and held Furuta for several weeks in the house of one of the captors. The girl was violently raped and subjected to torture and sexual degradation for example she was forced to masturbate. On 4th January 1989 four sadists beat her with an iron barbell, poured lighter fluid on her legs, arms, face and stomach, and immolated her. She died later that day of shock and her mutilated corpse was hidden in an oil-drum filled with cement.

A conceptual pinku film by renowned experimental artist Hiroyuki Oki, which is conceived of 60 shots which all are 60 seconds long and represent an absurdist take on the narrative ans stylistic schemes of erotic cinema.

Looking for a fresh start, the women find each other, steal a bag of money and try to escape their pasts. In their flight, they encounter everything from adult babies to sword-wielding madams.

Cult filmmaker Hisayasu Sato's second comedy of the year, this silly softcore effort stars pretty Nao Kikuchi as a young married woman who takes a job at a call-girl agency with the mistaken belief that it is a maid service. After she is raped on her first assignment, Kikuchi is understandably shocked, but quickly warms to her new career and becomes quite the professional. Unfortunately, her husband soon discovers the true nature of her work.

A complete change of pace for cult pinku-eiga filmmaker Hisayasu Sato, this softcore farce set in a women's clinic looks more like one of Siggi Gotz's German romps than a film from the director of OL Renzoku Rape: Kyonyu Musaboru or Kamen No Yuwaku. The zany antics include the misadventures of a voyeuristic nurse, an exhibitionistic patient, a doctor and nurse who engage in S&M, a hypochondriac, and a lesbian nurse who sleeps with the patients.

Another example of the ways in which themes completely unacceptable in American films are given full exploration in Japanese softcore, this melodramatic pinku-eiga from cult director Hisayasu Sato will appall most Western audiences. Sato regular Koichi Imaizumi stars as a man obsessed with high school girls and their uniforms, viewing them as innocent and untainted. He begins an affair with one such girl (Yuri Ishihara), who is unmercifully bullied by her classmates and thus vulnerable to Imaizumi's attentions. After a time, Ishihara begins to manipulate her suitor, talking him into brutally raping all the girls who tormented her. Excited by schoolgirls as he is, Imaizumi has no problem acceding to Ishihara's demands at first, but eventually rebels due to his love for the vengeful nymphet.

What she's unlocking in the human brain may forever change medical science forever, but will she be remain sane enough - or even alive! - to present her findings?

This softcore effort from cult pinku-eiga director Hisayasu Sato concerns the perfect couple. Of course, they don’t know that they’re the perfect couple because they each keep a “terrible” secret from the other. This prevents them from enjoying a normal sex life. The husband is impotent unless he can watch another couple having sex, and the wife pleasures herself to thoughts of being raped while someone else watches. Eventually, the voyeuristic husband and the exhibitionist wife confess their secrets to each other and realize how silly they’ve been when they were clearly made for each other.

6.2/10

A standard pinku-eiga entry from prolific cult director Hisayasu Sato, this softcore melodrama centers on a successful female magazine editor with a handsome fiancé. The good-looking, successful couple seems to be the picture of happiness, until the young woman meets a kinky dentist who helps her to discover the pleasures of pain.

The plot deals with an alienated high-school girl who is rescued from a suicide attempt by a male student who can only achieve orgasm by pleasuring himself with women's underwear. Intrigued, the depressed young woman taunts him into raping her various female enemies by sending him secret e-mails.

Although its title indicates three personalities, the heroine of cult filmmaker Hisayasu Sato's downbeat multiple-personality tale actually exhibits four, going from loving wife to crazed slut to insane child to depressed adolescent. As usual, Sato fills the film with alienation, kinky sex, and psychological subplots, not to mention the twist endings which he seems to believe make all of his exercises in softcore sleaze a profound statement on the state of human relations.

Kasumi Yuka heads the cast of this silly softcore film from Hisayasu Sato, the usually far more sober cult filmmaker known for grim depictions of alienation and sadism. Yuka plays a cranky harridan who uses her vibrator to administer questionably effective punishment to people who annoy her.

Erotic drama set in an underground Tokyo club called The Bedroom, where the female clientele are drugged into a trance-like state and are subjected to different styles of bizarre, fetishistic sex by the male clientele.

5.7/10

This deliriously warped S&M softcore film from cult pinku-eiga director Hisayasu Sato deals with a deranged doctor who lives in an abandoned hospital with his wheelchair-bound sister. Frustrated by normal women's perceived imperfections, the madman kidnaps them and submits them to gruesome tortures under the guise of anti-aging experiments.

After her husband dies, supposedly accidentally, Yuri is left alone, grieving and self-destructive. A deranged woman gouges out the eyes of the strangers she has sex with. She was once filmed being brutally raped on the roof of her school and is still trying to cope with the trauma.

6.9/10

If this rather low-key softcore tale of a high-school girl who becomes a local celebrity after accidentally videotaping a rape seems out of character for cult filmmaker Hisayasu Sato, it may be the feminine touch provided by screenwriter Kyoko Godai.
